According to initial information, at around 7:30 p.m. on November 9, medium voltage power pole No. 61 located on Tran Hung Dao Street, An Thanh Hamlet, suddenly emitted many sparks accompanied by a loud explosion. In just a few minutes, the fire spread along the medium voltage power line system hundreds of meters long. Some sections of the wire were broken and fell to the residential area below, causing the fire to spread.

People living near the scene said that when they heard the explosion, everyone ran out and saw the electric pole on fire, sparks flying everywhere, and many electric wires sagging and falling onto the metal roof and yard of people's houses.

Upon receiving the news, Hong Ngu Ward Police coordinated with the Hong Ngu Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team and the civil defense force to quickly arrive at the scene to put out the fire. After nearly 1 hour of active deployment, the fire was completely controlled, preventing it from spreading to the residential area.

According to the report of Hong Ngu Ward Police, the fire slightly injured one person and damaged four houses. Some houses had their corrugated iron roofs burned, the iron columns damaged, and many household items burned, including motorbikes, televisions, and other household items.

The initial cause was determined to be a technical problem on the medium voltage power line, causing the power line to burn in many sections and fall onto houses. Currently, the police force is coordinating with the electricity industry to block off the scene, check the safety of the electrical system, and at the same time, count the damage and support people to overcome the consequences.
