Ninh Hai Commune Veterans Association: Promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers"

Over the years, cadres and members of the Veterans Association of Ninh Hai commune have continuously promoted the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" along with solidarity, exemplary and pioneering in all areas of social life, contributing to affirming the core role of the association in building the Party and government, participating in socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security. From the steadfast spirit and will to overcome difficulties of the soldiers of the past, many members have risen up to become rich legitimately, contributing to building the increasingly innovative homeland of Ninh Hai.

Steadfast on the ideological front

After merging the administrative units of Tri Hai, Phuong Hai and Bac Son, Ninh Hai commune brought with it the new vitality of a land rich in revolutionary tradition. Along with the general development of the locality, the Association of War Veterans of Ninh Hai commune has constantly innovated the content and methods of operation, promoting the role of nearly 300 members operating in 12 branches, becoming the core force in building a strong grassroots political system.

Mr. Pham Xuan Tien - Chairman of the Commune Veterans Association said: “Promoting the tradition and good qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", we always uphold the spirit of responsibility, maintain political stance, solidarity, and be a reliable support for the local Party Committee, government and people. Each Veterans Association member is both a shining example in life and a pioneer soldier on the ideological and political front, fighting against evil and wrong; at the same time, propagandizing, mobilizing, orienting public opinion among the people, participating in grassroots reconciliation, consolidating the great solidarity and solidarity in residential areas".

During the 2022 - 2025 term, the association has sent more than 95 cadres and members to coordinate with functional forces to patrol and control the area with 41 peak periods, contributing to maintaining security and order; participating in mediation and resolving more than 26 disputes among the people; mobilizing 100% of young people who passed the military service to join the army, including 25 children and siblings of members. The association also focused on coordinating with organizations to organize more than 90 traditional talks, 7 trips to the source attracting more than 2,700 members, union members and young people to participate, contributing to educating patriotism and arousing national pride in the young generation.

Economic development competition

Not only are they shining examples in political and ideological work, the cadres and members of the Ninh Hai Commune Veterans Association are also pioneers in economic development and sustainable poverty reduction. The Association promotes propaganda work, encouraging members to change their professions in accordance with the local socio-economic development situation; to adopt advanced technology applied to farming, fishing, and processing of agricultural and aquatic products. Thanks to that, the lives and incomes of members are increasingly improved. The Association has entrusted the Social Policy Bank to provide additional capital for members to invest in production and business; at the same time, it has mobilized the funds "Comradely affection" and "For poor comrades" to help members repair houses, develop the economy, and stabilize their lives. Many economic models owned by members have become bright spots, bringing jobs and income to local workers. A typical example is War Veteran Bui Hoa in Khanh Tuong village. This year, at the age of 65, Mr. Hoa is still working hard on the nearly 4-hectare pure white salt fields. After being discharged from the army in 1987, Mr. Hoa started to build a life from scratch. Thanks to the soldier's perseverance and will to rise up, he is now the owner of the salt fields with an annual harvest of more than 1,200 tons of salt, an average income of about 1 billion VND/year, creating regular jobs for 10 workers with a salary of nearly 6 million VND/month and 15 seasonal workers. Veteran Bui Hoa shared: "When I first returned from the army to do business, it was not easy at all. But I always kept in mind that after leaving the battlefield, I had to live and work in a way that was worthy of the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" - resilient, resilient, and hard-working. That is also a way to show gratitude to my comrades and my homeland."

With "nuclei" who are good at doing business like Mr. Bui Hoa, the movement of war veterans helping each other to do business well has been widely implemented by the War Veterans Association of Ninh Hai commune, bringing practical results. Up to now, the whole association has only 11 poor households and 7 near-poor households; the proportion of well-off and rich members is increasing. Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the War Veterans Association of Ninh Hai commune will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize members to actively work, produce, promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in peacetime; focus on exploiting the potential and strengths of the locality to develop effective economic models, build a strong and comprehensive association organization in the direction of innovation, digital transformation, flexibility and substance, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous and happy homeland.
