Can Tho City leaders inspect the progress of the Project to Upgrade and Expand National Highway 91 (section from km0

According to the Management Board of the Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project of Can Tho City, the Project to Upgrade and Expand National Highway 91 (section from km0 - km7) of Can Tho City has a total investment of more than 7,237 billion VND, the route length is about 7km, the road cross-section is 37m wide (including 6 lanes). The capital plan for 2025 is 3,235 billion VND (capital allocated at the beginning of the year from the central budget is 3,235 billion VND; disbursed up to November 7, 2025 is 1,297,688 billion VND, reaching 40.11%; the remaining capital plan is expected to be disbursed for compensation, support, resettlement and payment of construction volume.

Regarding the project site handover, on September 16, 2025, the City Land Fund Development Center handed over the site with 19 discontinuous sections with a total length of 5,489m to both sides of the route. Currently, the site has been handed over to 8/13 construction contractors with a length of 5,489m for both sides of the route; the contractors have been handed over and inspected, reviewed the site, gathered machinery, equipment, and materials to prepare for construction.

After the inspection, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen emphasized: Upgrading and expanding National Highway 91 (section from km0 - km7) is an extremely important and meaningful project for Can Tho City. This project will contribute to economic development, as well as ensuring people's livelihood in the affected area. Through the actual survey, it is clear that there are still many issues that the city continues to pay attention to in order to direct the sectors and levels. In the immediate future, the City Land Fund Development Center and localities will focus on mobilizing and propagating to gain people's consensus; the city will make maximum use of the State's policy mechanisms to ensure social security, settlement and employment for people affected by the project. At the same time, the city directs and requires all relevant units to focus on dismantling infrastructure; contractors must focus on equipment and human resources to start and implement construction as soon as possible for this project.
