In 2022, Samsung inaugurated the largest Research and Development (R&D) Center in Southeast Asia in Hanoi , demonstrating its commitment to long-term investment and strategy of developing technology talent right in Vietnam. To date, Samsung Vietnam has operated 6 manufacturing plants in two provinces: Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Ho Chi Minh City, and offices in charge of sales and marketing activities nationwide.
Over the past 30 years, Samsung has not only been the largest FDI investor in Vietnam (total capital reaching 23.2 billion USD by the end of 2024) but also a trusted companion of millions of Vietnamese families on the journey to improve the quality of life. From Galaxy mobile devices that connect every moment, TVs with integrated Vision AI that bring the ultimate entertainment experience, to the Bespoke AI home appliance collection that helps personalize living spaces, Samsung constantly innovates, bringing smart, advanced and sustainable technology solutions.
Vietnam is not only a global manufacturing hub for Samsung - where more than 2.35 billion smart products of the Galaxy ecosystem have been manufactured, but also a "gateway" to expand AI-integrated products and solutions to similar markets in Southeast Asia and Oceania. Currently, Vietnam has become one of Samsung's most important strategic bases globally, with outstanding capabilities in both production and research and development (R&D), where Vietnamese engineers are directly leading many key projects. Increasingly developed technological capacity, potential human resources and the aspiration to lead digital transformation are the foundations to help Vietnam get closer to the goal of becoming the leading technology center in the region.
