Some people even exploit their fame to "produce and sell counterfeit food," disregarding consumer health. So, why do so many people easily trust artists, actors, and celebrities, only to realize their trust was misplaced when these people get into trouble with the law?
The friendly and successful image of artists, actors, and celebrities serves as a "shell of trust," lulling investors or fans into a false sense of security. In society, fame is often associated with prestige. Many believe that if an artist or celebrity is credited with a project or product, they must have a solid financial or legal foundation.
However, when artists and celebrities exploit the trust of investors and consumers for illicit gain, the price to pay is very high. Most recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict and execute an arrest warrant to detain Truong Ngoc Anh (artist and actress) for investigation into the act of "abuse of trust to appropriate property".
In recent days, the advice that has been widely mentioned is: anyone who "opens their wallet" to contribute capital or enter into investment partnerships should request that their partners provide complete legal documents of the business, such as the business registration certificate, company charter, financial statements, and the legal representative.
If the partner is an individual (including celebrities, artists, and actors), the cooperation agreement, capital contribution ratios, and specific rights should be carefully reviewed. In all cases, it is advisable to contact a notary office or the Department of Planning and Investment where the business is registered to verify the information. If necessary, consult a lawyer or financial expert before signing the agreement.
An important consideration when making business or investment decisions is the distinction between admiration for a person's reputation and their actual business capabilities (management skills, financial transparency). Artists, actors, and celebrities may inspire and spread positive values, but that doesn't mean they have the capacity to manage a business. Trust placed in the right place is the beginning of value; misplaced trust is the beginning of hurt and loss.
