Recently, Pleiku Calligraphy Club (Pleiku ward) organized a calligraphy meeting and exchange program with the participation of many famous artists from the South such as painter-calligrapher La Han Vinh, calligrapher Ho Thanh Thuan, and young faces such as The Anh, Thanh Tra...

The exchange took place last weekend in a warm and open atmosphere at the Pleiku Ward Children's House. The letters flew on red and white paper, sometimes bold, sometimes light, conveying many humane messages.
Works such as “Dong Tam Calligraphy”, “Binh An”… are not only technical performances, but also the artist’s voice, connecting people through the spiritual value of Vietnamese calligraphy art.
Poet-calligrapher Ho Thanh Thuan (stage name Co Nguyet) brought to the exchange meaningful verses: Paper, ink, pen and inkstone demonstrate the spirit of cultivating morality/Literature and words illuminate human relationships and promote the Southern style.

Although he has been to Gia Lai many times, for painter-calligrapher La Han Vinh (stage name Han Vinh), this trip brings a special feeling. He shared: I always have special feelings for the land and people of Pleiku. This place still preserves the cultural characteristics of the Central Highlands; the people are very friendly and enthusiastic. Every time I return, I feel my heart calm down, as if I have been given new energy.
According to him, Pleiku Calligraphy Club members are not only enthusiastic and dynamic but also actively connect with calligraphy clubs in the South. Their participation in exhibitions and art exchanges has contributed to creating a calligraphy community rich in style and diverse in emotions.
“When I came to Pleiku, I clearly felt the love and appreciation of the people for calligraphy. The brothers and sisters here are sincere and close like family members,” artist Han Vinh confided.
Among the young artists participating in the exchange program, Le Thi Thanh Tra (stage name Tinh Thuy Chieu Nga) left a strong impression. Although born in 2002, this young girl has been involved in calligraphy for more than 5 years and is currently the administrator of the Tinh Thuy Duong fanpage, where she shares knowledge about calligraphy, ink painting and seals.
Thanh Tra said: This is the third time I have come to Pleiku and the second time I have interacted with the Pleiku Calligraphy Club. I am impressed by the fresh air, friendly people and especially the passion of the Club members, many of whom are very young but very enthusiastic.
Gen Z has a new approach to calligraphy - more modern, more open, but still maintaining respect for words and traditional culture. Through the exchanges, I hope to spread positive energy and bring calligraphy closer to young people.

Established in October 2021, Pleiku Calligraphy Club currently has more than 30 members, the youngest of whom is only 9 years old and the oldest is over 60. Regardless of age, they all share a passion for writing and the spirit of "preserving the nation's soul through every stroke of the pen".
Ms. Phan Thi Kim Thanh (stage name Thien Yet), Vice President of Pleiku Calligraphy Club, expressed: "Through the exchange programs, we hope to learn more experiences and creative techniques, and at the same time connect with calligraphy clubs inside and outside the province to maintain long-term relationships and develop the movement together."
Since its inception, the Club has actively accompanied many cultural and tourism events of the province such as Tet Nguyen Tieu, Heritage Festival, Pleiku Pho Bonsai Exhibition...
In addition, the Club also organizes many meaningful volunteer activities such as opening free calligraphy classes for orphans and disabled children, exchanging with students from Chi Lang High School, Thien An Shelter, Sao Mai, or participating in the Festival of ethnic children and poor children overcoming difficulties organized by Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union.
The Club also participated in the international calligraphy exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City, exchanged calligraphy performances with many calligraphy artists from Japan; exchanged with Bat Trang Ceramic Village in Hanoi ...
