King of Jordan to officially visit Vietnam

On November 8, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that at the invitation of President Luong Cuong, King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan will pay an official visit to Vietnam from November 12 to 13.

Vietnam is a destination within the framework of King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein's Asian tour, which also includes Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and Pakistan. The tour aims to strengthen cooperation between Jordan and other countries, promoting partnerships, especially in the economic and investment fields.

This is also his first official visit to Vietnam.

Jordan is located in the southeastern Mediterranean, bordered to the north by Syria, to the northeast by Iraq, to ​​the southeast by Saudi Arabia and to the west by Israel. This country is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy, with the King as its head of state.

Vietnam and Jordan established diplomatic relations on August 9, 1980. Currently, the Jordanian Embassy in Singapore is also in charge of Vietnam, and the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE is also in charge of Jordan.

In 2024, two-way trade turnover reached 188.138 million USD, of which Vietnam exported 180.526 million USD, mainly agricultural and aquatic products, electronic products and components, fabrics, chemicals, wood... Main import items include textile products, fertilizers, and chemicals.

As of the end of September 2025, Jordan has 5 valid investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered investment of 1 million USD, ranking 108/153 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. Currently, there are no investment projects from Vietnam to Jordan.

The two countries have signed a number of cooperation documents, including the Agreement on Air Transport (November 1994), the Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on promoting economic and trade cooperation (March 23, 1997). The two countries regularly support each other in regional and international forums.
