Vietnam and Jordan established diplomatic relations on August 9, 1980.

In 2024, two-way trade turnover will reach 188.138 million USD, of which Vietnam will export 180.526 million USD, mainly agricultural and aquatic products, electronic products and components, fabrics, chemical products, wood products, plastic products, equipment, tools and spare parts...

Vietnam's main imported goods include textile products, fertilizers, chemicals, etc.

As of the end of September 2025, Jordan has 5 valid investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered investment capital of 1 million USD, ranking 108/153 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. Currently, there are no investment projects from Vietnam to Jordan.

The two countries regularly support each other in regional and international forums.

On the occasion of attending the 3rd United Nations Ocean Summit in France last June, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan.

At the meeting, the two leaders agreed to increase delegation exchanges at all levels, especially at high levels, to enhance political trust. The Prime Minister suggested that the two countries consider negotiating and signing a visa exemption agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders to facilitate delegation exchanges and exchanges between the two countries. Vietnam is ready to cooperate in agriculture and support Jordan in ensuring food security and digital transformation cooperation.

King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein expressed his wish that the two sides strengthen cooperation in science and technology, human resource training, cooperation in dealing with the consequences of bombs and mines, and support the production of artificial limbs.

The two leaders agreed to direct relevant ministries and branches to speed up legal procedures to sign bilateral agreements on the occasion of the King's upcoming visit to Vietnam.
