This is the first interdisciplinary workshop since the establishment of the APEC 2027 National Committee, kicking off the preparation of content and agenda for APEC 2027, when Vietnam will host the Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum for the third time.
In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan affirmed that the Asia- Pacific region and the APEC Forum are always important priorities in Vietnam's foreign policy in general and the international economic integration process in particular.
For Vietnam, APEC cooperation is an important driving force to facilitate trade, attract investment and enhance the competitiveness of the economy. Hosting APEC 2027 is a great honor and at the same time a heavy international responsibility, also affirming Vietnam's determination to successfully organize APEC 2027 in both multilateral and bilateral aspects, contributing to the realization of APEC Vision 2040, further promoting the role of a locomotive for growth and economic connectivity in the region and the world.

At the two discussion sessions, speakers made in-depth assessments and analyses of the rapidly changing world context, fierce strategic competition, global trade facing many challenges, while innovation, digital economy and artificial intelligence become new growth drivers.
In that context, Asia-Pacific continues to play a central role in the global value chain and technological innovation, while APEC remains the leading economic cooperation mechanism promoting trade, investment, inclusive and sustainable growth.
Delegates affirmed that nearly 30 years of participation in APEC has brought Vietnam many strategic benefits in terms of economy, investment, integration and international position and believed that, with the experience of successfully organizing APEC Years 2006 and 2017, Vietnam will excellently assume the role of host of APEC 2027.

The workshop made many specific proposals and recommendations on priority orientations that Vietnam can promote in APEC cooperation in 2027, such as: Economic linkage - regional connectivity, sustainable supply chain; innovation, digital transformation, digital economic development; sustainable development, equitable energy transition, climate change response; support for small and medium enterprises, creative startups; and development of high-quality human resources.
In her concluding remarks at the workshop, Ms. Tran Bao Ngoc, Director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy, Head of the APEC Vietnam Diplomacy SOM, affirmed that the contributions, proposals and exchanges at the workshop will continue to be studied and concretized into practical priorities and initiatives contributing to the success of APEC Vietnam Year 2027; at the same time, she expressed her belief that Vietnam will continue to excellently perform its role as host, affirming its proactive, positive and responsible position in the region and on the international arena.
