This is a match that Thuy Linh will probably regret, because she is not inferior to Chiu Pin-Chian (Chinese Taipei) in terms of skills and techniques. However, her ability to handle situations and psychological pressure prevented the Vietnamese "badminton hot girl" from maintaining her best playing condition throughout the match.
Right from the first set, the two players created dramatic moments of tug-of-war. Chiu Pin-Chian showed her flexibility, thanks to which she was able to make some difficult cross-court plays. Meanwhile, Thuy Linh's strength was her persistence and tenacity.
The Vietnamese player did not get into the rhythm well in the first few minutes, but gradually figured out his opponent. Both players took turns scoring points, causing the score to be tied until 12-12.
At this point, Chiu Pin-Chian had a point to take the lead 13-12. Thuy Linh started to show signs of mental weakness again. She tried to handle difficult shots to pressure her opponent, but lacked precision and many times the ball went out.
Thanks to that, Chiu Pin-Chian started to break away and won 21-16 in game 1.
In the second set, Thuy Linh could no longer maintain her previous playing form. She continuously made mistakes and gradually lost confidence. Meanwhile, the Chinese Taipei player took advantage of the opportunity, created a safe gap and won 21-15.
This is Thuy Linh's fourth loss in a Super 300 level final. She has yet to make history as the first Vietnamese female badminton player to win at this level.
