Before the match on November 8, experts rated Thuy Linh's opponent quite highly. Akechi is ranked 57th in the world and has been to the finals of many tournaments in the World Tour system.
However, Thuy Linh did not allow her Japanese opponent to create any surprises. Maintaining her top form from the beginning of the tournament, Vietnam's No. 1 tennis player, Nguyen Thuy Linh, entered the match confidently, showing off her unpredictable playing style and quickly wearing down her opponent with smart tactics.

Thuy Linh continuously controlled the shuttlecock accurately along the line, hitting the shuttlecock behind her head or cutting diagonally across the net, forcing her opponent to move constantly. This effective tactic helped her quickly create a safe distance, convincingly leading 6-3, then breaking away to 11-5 and 14-5.
Akechi changed rackets, but could not change the situation, and had to accept the 11-21 loss in the first set.
In the second set, Thuy Linh had a good start, leading 7-3. Although her opponent brought the score to 14-14, the Phu Tho player showed her steely determination. Thuy Linh was not shaken, scoring three consecutive points to lead 17-14, creating a turning point and ending the dramatic set with a score of 21-17.
In the end, Vietnam's No. 1 tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh excellently won convincingly 2-0 (21-11, 21-17) against Hina Akechi to win a ticket to the final of Korea Masters 2025.
This impressive victory helped Thuy Linh set a personal record as this was her fourth final at the BWF tournament system this year, after the German Open, Canada Open and Vietnam Open. In the final on November 9, Thuy Linh will face No. 1 seed Chiu Pin-chian.
