Tuyen Quang is a mountainous, highland, border province with many difficulties. Completing the goal of eliminating temporary, dilapidated houses for more than 15,000 households is not only a great effort but also a miracle of the entire political system. Not only helping thousands of households realize their dream of "settling down", the temporary house elimination program has become a highlight of social security, opening up profound lessons on how to mobilize community strength, promote the internal strength of the people and the companionship of the entire political system.

Mrs. Ly Thi Tinh, 74 years old, Chiem Hoa commune still remembers clearly the day she moved to her new house. After many years living in a dilapidated wooden house, with leaky roofs in the rainy season and cold winds in the cold season, she thought that in her old age she would be stuck with that rickety roof. However, thanks to the temporary house removal program, along with the support of the government and the help of neighbors, the solid, bright house was completed in just a few months. "If I had only relied on my own strength, I would never have dared to dream of it. Now that I have a new house, my heart is very warm" - Mrs. Tinh shared.
Not only Mrs. Tinh, in recent times, in many localities, it is not difficult to see the image of people joining hands to build new houses for poor households: some contribute a few trees, some support a few dozen bricks, some contribute days of labor. The newly completed houses are not only more sturdy against wind and rain, but also contain the affection of the village.
In Hung Duc commune, Mr. Vi Van Kien, 70 years old, a particularly poor household in Thang Binh village, was supported with construction costs and labor days to build a new house. Mr. Kien said, "I am old and lonely, so I cannot build a decent house. When it rains heavily, my old house leaks everywhere. Recently, with the help of local people, union members, and youths, people clearing the ground, carrying materials, and digging the foundation, the house was quickly built. Thank you very much to the local government, the Party, the Government , and the local people."
To implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, Tuyen Quang province has promptly established Steering Committees at all levels, issued many documents to direct, urge and implement the program. The entire political system from the province to the grassroots level has taken drastic action with a spirit of urgency and high responsibility.
Tuyen Quang also made its mark with many creative ways. The province announced 3 typical house models suitable for mountainous characteristics, ensuring the "3 hard" standards. Agencies, units, departments, communes and wards mobilized union members, members, soldiers and police to help households transport materials and support construction workdays. In particular, many poor households and ethnic minority households were also supported with additional funds and materials to build houses suitable to the identity and customs of each ethnic group.
According to comrade Ha Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province, the province identified propaganda, mobilization, and gathering the strength of the entire population to participate in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses as one of the key tasks of the front's work, thereby actively implementing many solutions to mobilize socialized resources. At the same time, relevant departments and branches closely coordinate, focus on inspecting and supervising the leadership, direction, and implementation of the use of resources in the construction and repair of houses at the grassroots level.
Through the "For the Poor" Fund, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province has received over 355 billion VND in support of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. In addition to financial contributions, philanthropists, volunteers, the police force, the army, local authorities, organizations, unions and people have joined hands to contribute over 135,000 working days to help households build and repair houses, making an important contribution to speeding up the completion of the plan in the whole province.
Speaking at the conference to summarize the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Tuyen Quang province in 2025, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hau A Lenh emphasized: With the starting point of a mountainous province, a large area, people still facing many difficulties, and limited resources, the completion of eliminating 15,064 temporary and dilapidated houses in a short time is a "miracle". This is a very proud achievement, demonstrating the consensus of the entire political system, the participation of the business community and the positive response of the people, demonstrating and promoting the strength of great national unity in the new period.
During the implementation process, Tuyen Quang province has identified and drawn a number of lessons. In particular, the province has focused on implementing the motto "The Party leads, the State manages, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations support, and the people are the masters"; proactively, resolutely, and resolutely closely directing the implementation process.
In particular, the province is united and consistent with the viewpoint of "unanimity from top to bottom, smooth operation from top to bottom", "unity creates success", determined not to back down in the face of difficulties, not to adjust the completion deadline. At the same time, the province identifies that local authorities at all levels have a decisive role in the success of the program; assigns responsibility to leaders; strengthens urging, inspection, supervision, encouragement, rewards, criticism, and timely reminders.
In the coming time, the Provincial Party Secretary requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, and the entire political system continue to pay attention to reviewing and supporting households with temporary houses and dilapidated houses; at the same time, encourage households with new houses to actively develop the economy, associated with new rural construction, preserving and promoting national cultural identity so that people can have a better life.
He also requested the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to preside over and advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to concretize Resolution No. 42 on continuing to innovate and improve the quality of social policies, which sets the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, people affected by natural disasters, climate change and especially people with meritorious services to the revolution by 2030. He also called on the business community and philanthropists to continue to join hands and accompany the province in implementing social security goals, improving the quality of people's lives, creating a solid foundation for the province's rapid and sustainable development.
