Temporarily stop supplying domestic water in Tuy Phong area to handle turbidity

This announcement was made by the Tuy Phong Area Public Works Management Board on the same day. The cause was determined to be due to heavy rains in recent days causing major floods, carrying a high amount of natural mineral mud, making the water source cloudy.

According to the Tuy Phong Area Public Works Management Board, In recent days, the upstream area of Long Song lake has had heavy rain and floods. This has brought with it a very high amount of natural mineral mud, causing the turbidity of the water source to increase dramatically.

Local people said the water source has been cloudy for the past few days.

This is an unusual phenomenon, never recorded in previous years, exceeding the current technical treatment threshold of Tuy Phong Water Plant.

Faced with that reality, the Water Plant under the Tuy Phong Area Public Works Management Board has maximized its processing capacity, adjusted its processes and continuously flushed.

However, due to the high turbidity of the raw water, the treated water is still more turbid than normal. According to the assessment, the water source mainly affects the sensory perception when used, leading to anxiety among the people.

Therefore, to bring water quality back to a stable state as quickly as possible, the Tuy Phong Area Public Works Management Board will temporarily suspend water supply from 9:00 p.m. on November 8 to 5:00 a.m. on November 9, 2025.

Water cut-off covers all communes: Lien Huong, Phan Ri Cua, Vinh Hao and Tuy Phong commune (except Phan Dung, La Ba 1 and La Ba 2 areas). The purpose is to optimize the treatment and flushing process of the system to reduce turbidity in the water supply.
