During the changing seasons of October, two close friends Lam Hanh and Cao Trang embarked on an inspiring journey together: driving more than 2,500km in 10 days to explore the wild beauty of Xinjiang, China. The trip was not only an adventure through breathtaking landscapes but also a testament to friendship and a passion for travel that knows no age limit.

Journey from Urumqi to "Heavenly Lake"
Starting from Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the couple's journey began by conquering the sunny and windy S21 desert highway. The first stop was Tianshan Tianchi Lake, also known as Tianchi Tianshan, a mountain lake known as the "jade of the Western Regions".
Located at an altitude of nearly 2,000m in the Tianshan Mountains, about 100km from Urumqi, Tianshan Tianchi Lake appears with its crystal clear water, reflecting the majestic snow-capped mountains and vast pine forests. The scenery here brings a sense of peace, completely separate from the noisy world .

Kanas and Hemu: A Golden Autumn Fairy Tale
Leaving Tianchi, the journey continued to take the two female tourists to the "Kanas three scenic area", one of the most unique highlights of Xinjiang. This place is a combination of Kanas Lake, Hemu Village and Baihaba Village, each with its own beauty.
Peaceful Hemu Village
Hemu appears like a vivid landscape painting with small wooden houses nestled in the valley, surrounded by pine and birch forests turning golden yellow. This is the home of the Tuvan people, a nomadic people who still retain many traditional cultural features. Walking in the village, breathing in the fresh air and listening to the sound of falling leaves brings a feeling of absolute relaxation.

Legendary Kanas Lake
Kanas Lake is famous for its water that changes color with the seasons, from emerald green to deep blue. In autumn, the calm surface of the lake reflects the golden leaves of the forest and the clear sky, creating a breathtaking scene. The beauty of the lake is also associated with the legend of the sea monster, adding to the mystery and charm of this place.

Baihaba: The village on the border
Located in the Baihaba River Valley, the village of the same name is a pristine destination where the river forms a natural border between China and Kazakhstan. Dubbed “China’s Little Switzerland”, Baihaba enchants visitors with its empty roads, vast grasslands and golden birch forests. This is a place to find tranquility, where the sound of the wind whispering through the leaves tells the story of the borderland.

Unique moment of changing seasons
The most special thing about Lam Hanh and Cao Trang's trip was witnessing the rare moment of changing seasons. While autumn has not yet passed, the forests are still bright yellow, winter has begun with layers of pure white snow covering the mountain peaks of the Altai range. Cao Trang shared that every morning when she wakes up and opens the door, she can touch a whole field of white snow, a strange and unforgettable experience.
Amidst the scene of both white snow and yellow leaves, two friends enjoyed precious moments together, proving that age is just a number and the flame of youth always burns.
