La Gi Ward visits the family whose boat was sunk by waves

On the afternoon of November 8, representatives of the People's Committee of La Gi ward (Lam Dong) visited and encouraged the family of a fisherman who was in an accident involving a sinking ship due to big waves at the La Gi estuary.

At the visit, Vice Chairman of La Gi Ward People's Committee Tran The Hung, along with leaders of specialized departments kindly shared and encouraged the family of fisherman Nguyen The Tinh (born in 1966; permanent resident of Quarter 3, La Gi Ward ( Lam Dong ).

According to initial information, at around 8am the same day, many boats were entering the estuary when suddenly a strong current with a whirlpool appeared. Among them, fishing boat BTh 81196 TS, 35 CV capacity, 7.1m long, owned by Mr. Nguyen The Tinh, when moving into La Gi port, encountered a strong current and was completely sunk by large waves.

Fortunately, the fishermen were promptly discovered by rescuers and local people and helped to bring them safely to shore. However, some property and fishing gear were damaged and suffered significant damage.

The leaders of La Gi Ward People's Committee also sent their thanks to the rescue force and people who participated in the timely rescue, contributing to minimizing damage to people and property.

The Ward People's Committee also provided a practical gift to help the fishermen's families stabilize their lives and continue to go to sea. The local government advised fishermen to regularly monitor weather forecasts and proactively anchor their boats safely when there are big waves and strong winds; and absolutely not to go to sea when the weather is bad to ensure the safety of life and property.

The Ward People's Committee also directed relevant departments, branches, organizations and residential groups to continue to pay attention and provide timely support to help the family overcome immediate difficulties.
