Officials of the Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations of Hung Phu ward visited and learned about people's lives and production.

Talking to us, Ms. Ho Thi Trinh shared her happiness when receiving the Great Unity house supported by the locality. Married for more than 10 years, Ms. Trinh and her husband earn a living by working as construction workers. Having participated in building hundreds of housing projects, Ms. Trinh still dreams of having her own small house. Ms. Trinh said: “When we heard that our family was considered for support for the Great Unity house, my husband and I were very happy. During the days of building the house, ward and area officials came back and forth to visit and encourage us. My husband and I are extremely grateful for that kindness.”

According to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Phu Ward, every year, from the beginning of the year, under the direction of the Party Committee, the Front coordinates with local authorities and socio-political organizations to review poor households and plan assistance in many forms. From 2024 to present, the ward has built and repaired 85 Great Unity houses, with a total value of 4.2 billion VND. On the occasion of Lunar New Year and important holidays of the year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward coordinates with member organizations to mobilize organizations, businesses, philanthropists, and organize the giving of more than 23,120 gifts and 32 tons of rice to near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances, with a total value of about 8.5 billion VND; Supporting medical treatment costs for 10 poor patients, amounting to 50 million VND... Local socio-political organizations effectively manage loan groups from the Social Policy Bank, supporting union members to borrow capital to invest in production and business development.

The practical support of the Front and its member organizations has helped many families stabilize their lives. Ms. To Thi Tuyet Nhung, a member of the ward's women's association, previously had 2 hectares of garden, growing miscellaneous crops, with little profit. Ms. Nhung's family was given favorable conditions to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank, invest in opening a grocery store and renovating the garden, growing specialized jackfruit. Ms. Nhung said: "Thanks to the grocery store, the family has an additional income of over 300,000 VND/day, and has the conditions to take care of their children's education. The jackfruit garden alone has produced fruit, with a profit of over 30 million VND/year."

Also thanks to the preferential loan, the life of Mr. Pham Van Beo, a member of the ward's farmer association, has gradually stabilized. Mr. Beo said: "My wife and I do not have land for production, we mainly work for hire to make a living. From the preferential loan supported by the Farmers' Association, my wife and I rented 2 hectares of land to grow vegetables. We specialize in selling melon buds because of the high price. It is estimated that 2 hectares of melons bring in a profit of about 20 million VND/crop. Every year, my family cultivates 3-4 crops."

In addition to supporting loans from the Social Policy Bank, the Front and ward member organizations, and local officials have provided effective support. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Diem's family used to be a near-poor household. Previously, Ms. Diem stayed at home as a housewife and took care of her children, and the family's main income depended on her husband's salary as a hired worker. More than 3 years ago, her husband fell ill and had to take a long leave from work. Local and ward officials encouraged her and introduced her to work as a worker at a company near her home. Ms. Diem's husband gradually recovered and found a job suitable for his health. Currently, her family's economy is stable.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc, a single woman in Phu Khanh area, confided: “My husband passed away when my youngest son was just 1 year old. I struggled to raise my 2 children. The local officials helped me complete the paperwork to apply for a job. I am currently working as a worker, earning about 5 million VND/month.” In 2024, Ms. Ngoc’s family was considered for a Dai Doan Ket house. Since having a new house, she has been able to work with peace of mind and take care of her children.

Mr. Dang Van Chau, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Phu Ward, informed: “The work of mobilizing and supporting poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households carried out by the government, the Front, and socio-political organizations of the ward has achieved many positive results. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward consulted with member organizations to assign sponsorship and assistance to households through building houses, supporting loans, and introducing jobs. At the same time, build and improve the quality of effective economic models, attract union members, association members, and people to participate, in order to increase income and improve living standards... At the beginning of 2025, through review, Hung Phu Ward still had 18 poor households. Recently, through the end of 2025, the locality had 5 households escape poverty.”
