On November 5, the 14th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee (14th Central Conference) opened in Hanoi .

Politburo member and President Luong Cuong chaired the conference on behalf of the Politburo. The Central Committee carried out the process of introducing personnel to join the Politburo and Secretariat of the 14th tenure (both re-election and first-time participation).

On the same afternoon, the Central Committee continued to implement the contents of personnel work: Agreeing to let Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee, stop participating in the Central Inspection Committee, stop holding the position of Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee (to focus on the new tasks assigned by the Politburo).

Carry out the process of introducing personnel for a number of positions: Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly, Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court for the 2021-2026 term so that the Politburo can decide to introduce the Party Central Committee to elect the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee and the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly to elect according to regulations.

The Central Executive Committee elected Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee to join the Central Inspection Committee and hold the position of Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee.

After that, the Central Committee and the delegates attending the conference worked in groups, discussing the following contents: (1) Draft Report reviewing the leadership and direction of the 13th Party Central Committee to be submitted to the 14th Congress. (2) Draft Report summarizing the implementation of the Working Regulations of the 13th Party Central Committee, Politburo and Secretariat. (3) Draft Report summarizing the implementation of the Working Regulations of the 13th Party Central Committee's Inspection Commission. (4) Report summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee on a number of issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently.
