Pao Dung is usually a call-and-response singing style, sung while working in the fields or during leisure time. The lyrics are often simple, easy to understand, and rely on the singer's flexible improvisational skills . Pao Dung melodies have great emotional power, with a gentle, graceful lyrical color that touches people's hearts. Currently, Pao Dung melodies are facing the risk of being lost because young people are less interested and focus on studying and working. The local government and people are making many efforts to preserve and teach this precious heritage.
