The tunnel system, nearly 2 km long with 3 levels, extends 12 to 23 meters deep into the ground, capable of withstanding American demolition and armor-piercing bombs. The tunnel system was arranged like a miniature village, complete with family housing, a meeting hall, water wells, a maternity ward, and more. During the fierce war, 17 babies were safely born underground.
Although not a place of religious worship or pilgrimage, Vinh Moc Bay remains a tourist destination of immense spiritual and commemorative value. Visitors come here to admire, honor , and express gratitude for the sacrifices, indomitable spirit, and extraordinary intelligence of the people of Vinh Linh. Located on the DMZ ( Demilitarized Zone) tourist route , Vinh Moc Bay is an important stop, connecting visitors with other historical sites such as Hien Luong Bridge, Ben Hai River, and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, creating a meaningful journey of remembrance.
