Striving to "reach the finish line" according to plan.
Taking advantage of the dry weather, irrigation companies in the city are accelerating the dredging of canals and repairing irrigation and suction canals after pumping stations.
At the Khue canal dredging project in Tien Lang commune, Tien Lang Irrigation Works Exploitation One-Member Limited Company is urgently completing the final sections. Mr. Nguyen Tri Dung, Chairman of the company, said that the dredging and embankment work for the more than 2 km long Khue canal has reached over 80% completion.
An Hai Irrigation Works Exploitation One-Member Limited Company is also constructing dredging and embankment works along the Hoa Phong canal. Mr. Tran Quang Hoat, Chairman of the company, informed that the canal dredging projects to be carried out in 2025 are being undertaken by the company.
Construction is progressing well, with efforts to complete it ahead of schedule and put it into operation as soon as possible, ensuring a timely water supply for the winter-spring crop production.

At the canal and ditch projects managed by the Hai Duong , Vinh Bao, Tien Lang, Thuy Nguyen, and Da Do Irrigation Works Exploitation One-Member Limited Liability Companies, dredging progress is being accelerated. In particular, the dredging projects for canals such as Hon Ngoc, Kien Bai Tay, Thai Lai, Dong Do, Gia sluice gate, and Noi Vung, undertaken by the Thuy Nguyen Irrigation Works Exploitation One-Member Limited Liability Company, are also determined to be completed by December 2025.

Ensure sufficient water supply for production.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in 2025, the City People's Committee decided to allocate over 84.5 billion VND to the An Kim Hai, Da Do, Thuy Nguyen, Tien Lang, and Vinh Bao irrigation systems to implement 68 projects for dredging canals and repairing irrigation and suction canals after electric pumping stations.
The canal and electric pumping station projects have been assessed and approved by the Department, and irrigation enterprises have been assigned as the investors.
Through inspection and monitoring, the units have basically ensured the progress as planned, with some projects that started construction early now being largely completed. The remaining projects are underway. "The Department will continue to monitor and urge the units to complete the projects before December 31, 2025, so that they can be put into operation in a timely manner to serve the winter-spring crop production," said Mr. Bui Hung Thien, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
Along with efforts to accelerate the construction and renovation of irrigation works in the area assigned by the city, irrigation enterprises are also proactively flushing out acidity and salinity, bringing in new water sources to serve farmers in preparing land for sowing rice seedlings for the winter-spring crop. At the same time, they are ensuring timely water supply to areas producing winter and spring crops to avoid interruptions.
Mr. Do Van Trai, Chairman of Da Do Irrigation Works Exploitation One-Member Limited Company, said that along with renovating and repairing irrigation works, the company requires irrigation stations to pump water promptly to localities for agricultural production and to supply water for domestic use to water treatment plants in the area.
The company also coordinated with the People's Committees of communes and towns to expand the canal bed and banks of the Da Do canal and other first-level canals, as well as many irrigation canals after the pumping station in the districts and counties under the company's management, to increase water storage capacity for production and daily life during the dry season for localities within the Da Do system; pumping water to irrigate more than 5,000 hectares of highland production land in communes and wards of the former districts and counties of Kien An, Duong Kinh, Do Son, An Lao, and Kien Thuy.
Completing and putting into operation irrigation works before December 31, 2025 will not only contribute to improving the operational capacity of the canal system, but also ensure timely water supply for the 2025-2026 winter-spring crop production in localities.
