Regarding the rain situation, Mr. Khiem said that since this morning, the central region and the Central Highlands have had very heavy rain, and it is forecast to continue tonight and tomorrow. With this amount of rain, there is a possibility of a new flood in the river basins.

“In the Hue and Da Nang cities, floods may rise but are unlikely to be as severe as the last time. Meanwhile, in the river basins of Quang Ngai, Gia Lai and Dak Lak, water levels may reach alert level 2, alert level 3, and in some places may exceed alert level 3,” Mr. Khiem said.

He also noted that due to the heavy rain that has occurred and will continue to last, localities need to be especially vigilant against the risk of insecurity at medium and small irrigation reservoirs in the central and Central Highlands regions.
