Storm No. 13 is causing big waves, high tides causing coastal erosion and localized flooding in some coastal areas of Quang Ngai province.

High tides combined with large waves continuously hit the embankment of Thach By 1, Sa Huynh ward on the evening of November 6, causing many houses in Con hamlet to be submerged in seawater.

According to residents of Con hamlet, at 8:00 p.m. the waves broke through the embankment, causing local flooding of more than 110 households, with some areas experiencing water depths of 1 meter. Many households had to leave their belongings behind overnight and evacuate urgently. Upon receiving the news, Sa Huynh ward leaders directed the authorities present at Con hamlet to move residents across the whirlpool to safety.

According to VNA reporters, seawater overflowed the Sa Huynh sea embankment and flooded into a residential area near the Sa Huynh Ward People's Committee; at Sa Huynh port, sea waves tossed a number of boats anchored at sea ashore; and in the coastal area of ​​Chau Me village, sea waves also caused serious erosion.

In Ly Son special economic zone, in a quick exchange with VNA reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son special economic zone, said: High tides are causing large waves to hit residential areas in the area. Currently, the wind level in the area has decreased to level 6, gusting to level 7 to level 8. However, the locality is facing a situation of rising sea levels that have flooded many houses. The locality is asking people not to leave their homes until the high tide has receded.

According to the Quick Report of the functional forces of Quang Ngai province, the whirlwind in the storm on the evening of November 6 caused the roofs of 50 houses in Long Phung communes (45 houses), Ba To, Ba Dinh, and Ngoc Linh to be blown off.
