Honoring outstanding works at the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture"

On the evening of November 6 at Hoan Kiem Theater (Hanoi), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presided over and coordinated with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the closing ceremony and award the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture".

The Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and the Vietnam Journalists Association to select and award authors or groups of authors with outstanding press works on culture, information, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast by central and local press agencies within the prescribed time; award to typical press agencies with many winning works.

The award aims to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of groups, individuals, and teams of journalists in the development of culture, information, sports, tourism and family.

The award also recognizes the persistent efforts of press and media agencies in turning culture into a source of spiritual energy, spreading to millions of people, joining hands to implement the strategic action statement: "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge".

2025 is the third season of the Award and has many innovations from name, scale of organization to content of entries.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung presented First Prize to the authors and groups of authors.

According to the report of the Organizing Committee of the Award, in just nearly 4 months of launching, up to August 10, 2025 (according to the postmark), the Secretariat - Synthesis of the Award has received 1,040 press works submitted to the contest from most of the Central and local press agencies. The contest works are published and broadcast on various types of press: Print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, press photos, from June 16, 2024 to July 31, 2025.

The work of preparing, screening and synthesizing works was carried out seriously, accurately and on schedule by the Secretariat - Synthesis. The Secretariat - Synthesis reviewed and preliminarily selected 113 works, including 927 works that met the criteria according to the Award Rules. Of which, the Print Newspaper category had 223 works; Electronic Newspaper 385 works; Radio 45 works; Television 103 works; Photo Newspaper 171 works.

This is a very high number for a specialized press award, especially in the context of press agencies being reorganized and streamlined in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW on a number of issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently. The entries for the Award are not only numerous in quantity and diverse in topics, but also of good professional quality, gathering many large and small press agencies at both the central and local levels.

The quantity and quality of entries this year shows the deep concern of journalists for the fields of culture, information, sports, tourism and family.

The preliminary jury selected 122 best works to present to the final jury. Based on the research of the 122 works proposed by the preliminary jury for the final round, the final jury conducted the judging and awarding in a spirit of urgency, impartiality, objectivity, and strict adherence to the Rules and Regulations.

As a result, the Final Jury selected 95 best works to award prizes including 5 First prizes, 15 Second prizes, 25 Third prizes and 50 Consolation prizes.

The collective award was given to 3 press agencies with many participating works, high quality and high results.

In addition, the Organizing Committee awarded Collective Prizes to 3 press agencies with many participating works of high quality and results, including Voice of Vietnam Radio, Vinh Long Newspaper and Radio and Television, and Bac Ninh Newspaper and Radio and Television.

Notably, the Vietnamese Inspiration category, symbolizing Vietnam's soft power and creative spirit in the new era, was selected for the first time by the Organizing Committee and awarded to press agencies, social media channels and individuals with outstanding achievements for the cause of developing culture, sports and tourism.

Groups received the Vietnamese Inspiration Award.

Specifically, the Special Prize of this year's Vietnam Inspiration was awarded to Nhan Dan Newspaper. Along with that, the First Prize was awarded to Vietnam Television. The Second Prize went to the Military Radio and Television Center and the Third Prize was awarded to Hanoi Radio and Television Station.

Also in this category, the social media channel award went to Schannel Network and the individual award went to actor Nguyen Hung (Nguyen Quoc Hung).
