At the meeting on November 6, 2025 chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Deputy General Director of the Group Nguyen Dat reported on the action plans to respond to storm No. 13 of Viettel Group.

Viettel activates the highest level response system to ensure smooth communication during storm No. 13.
Specifically, Viettel has dispatched four forward command groups to Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa to directly operate on-site, while the remaining areas are under the responsibility of Viettel Provincial Directors. More than 1,000 technical, electromechanical, transmission and information security officers have been reinforced, divided into 190 BTS teams, 50 electromechanical teams, 170 information security teams and 20 elite transmission teams, ready to mobilize and respond to each area of responsibility.
The preparation of materials and equipment was carried out synchronously on a large scale. Viettel added 397 mobile generators to the provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa, ensuring 110% backup capacity for key stations. More than 1,600 batteries were transferred to more than 1,100 telecommunications stations to maintain stable operations during widespread power outages. 17 satellite phones, 48 handheld walkie-talkies and 9 mobile broadcasting vehicles were distributed to key areas, of which Gia Lai and Binh Dinh were also reinforced with two transport drones to support the transportation of supplies and relief goods when roads were cut off.

More than 1,000 technical staff have been reinforced, ready to mobilize and respond to emergencies in assigned areas.
In parallel, Viettel has reduced the load on 236 antenna masts at risk of being unsafe, and completed the reinforcement, replenishment of fuel, supplies and safe shelters for the rescue force. The National Operation Center (NOC) system in 9 provinces is activated 24/24 hours, updating real-time data, monitoring and coordinating the rescue force as soon as the storm makes landfall.
Previously, in an urgent meeting on November 4 in Gia Lai, Viettel leaders requested that all response plans must be completed before November 5, with special emphasis on ensuring absolute safety for the storm prevention command center - the command and control center of the entire network. The backup power system was reinforced, and the generator installation location was proactively raised to ensure that the headquarters continued to operate continuously even when floodwaters rose.

Viettel technical forces approached flooded areas to provide information rescue.

Data on material warehouses and fuel storage points are updated on the Disaster Prevention software developed by Viettel, helping commanders to monitor and operate the whole system in real time. In addition, the Group deploys a Lego-style folding station model - mobile broadcasting stations that can be quickly assembled and easily transported in emergency conditions, serving information recovery in isolated areas.

All Viettel transaction stores, post offices and supermarkets in Hue City become free battery/phone charging points for people.
Also on November 5, the Department of Rescue and Relief (General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army) established a Forward Command Center to serve the direction and operation of responding to storm No. 13 (storm Kalmaegi), assigning Viettel Group, the Signal Corps to coordinate with Military Region 5 and relevant agencies to ensure smooth communication in all situations; ensure transmission lines to serve the Government, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of National Defense to direct and operate civil defense work.
Viettel Hue is one of 12 outstanding collectives in flood prevention and control.
Viettel Hue is the only representative of the telecommunications sector honored to be commended for its work in preventing, combating and helping people overcome the consequences of floods in 2025.On November 5, the People's Committee of Hue City organized a ceremony to commend and award Certificates of Merit to 12 collectives with outstanding achievements in flood prevention, control and assistance to people to overcome the consequences of floods in 2025. In the midst of the historic flood at the end of October, Viettel Hue still maintained a smooth information network, ensuring "no area had no signal", which was recognized and awarded a Certificate of Merit by the People's Committee of Hue City.
At the award ceremony, the leaders of the City People's Committee acknowledged and commended the outstanding results and achievements of 12 collectives of departments, branches and localities that have made efforts to overcome difficulties and promptly implemented many urgent measures under the direction and management of the city in the work of preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of floods in 2025, especially during the consecutive floods at the end of October 2025.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huy Quang, Director of Viettel Hue, shared that receiving the certificate of merit from the People's Committee of Hue City is a great honor and a worthy recognition for the collective of Viettel Hue staff. "During the recent historic flood, many Viettel Hue staff suffered heavy property damage, but they still stayed at the scene, responding to information around the clock. With their efforts and persistent soldierly spirit, Viettel Hue has been recognized as the network operator that maintained the best network infrastructure during the recent flood," Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huy Quang emphasized.
Even during the days of severe floods, Viettel units in Hue city proactively deployed rescue operations, ensuring uninterrupted telecommunications networks. In addition to the on-site technical staff on duty 24/7, personnel from neighboring provinces were also mobilized by the Group and its member units to support Viettel Hue in "save the waves".
Thanks to that, Viettel's signal is still stable in 40 communes and wards across Hue City. Viettel's BTS stations operate stably, with technical staff on duty 24/7 and fuel reserves to ensure infrastructure operations during the time the flood has not receded.
Not only making efforts to ensure information rescue, maintain the network during storms and floods and the impact of storm circulation, Viettel also always shows the spirit of accompanying and supporting people to overcome natural disasters. During the recent flood, all Viettel transaction stores, post offices and supermarkets in Hue city were open to provide free battery/phone charging points for people. Viettel waves here also opened roaming so that customers of other networks can use it to communicate when necessary.
