Sharing at the program, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Hong, former Deputy Director of the Department of Teachers, Ministry of Education and Training, said: Resolution 71 on breakthrough development of education and training sets the goal of making English the second language in schools. The Prime Minister also approved the Project "Making English the second language in schools for the period 2025-2035, with a vision to 2045".

This is a suitable policy when Vietnamese education is facing the opportunity to break through and innovate in the context of globalization; changing the perspective of teaching English in schools, making English a language used in a wider, more popular environment and gradually moving towards teaching subjects in English in places with sufficient conditions.
However, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Hong also said that to achieve this goal, we are also facing many challenges, requiring changes in programs, learning materials, and teaching methods; improving the quality of teachers, especially their skills in applying information technology; changing testing and evaluation methods...
Ms. Natalia Sasha Goodwin, Director of the Center for Academic Development, British University Vietnam also emphasized the challenges that Vietnamese students face such as the strong transformation of knowledge in the context of the explosion of artificial intelligence. The above reality shows that communication skills, especially in English, require Vietnamese students to pay attention and aim for in order to develop in the context of deep international integration as today.
Musician Nguyen Van Chung shared: From a young age, his mother sent him the message that English is very important. In the 6th and 7th grades, his mother boldly invested in him to study English at a quality center in Ho Chi Minh City. Thanks to his mother's vision and his own persistent efforts, he later passed the entrance exam to Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted in Ho Chi Minh City because his English score was doubled, opening up more opportunities for the future.
Later, when he became a musician, English also supported musician Nguyen Van Chung a lot in the process of living, composing and working. "From my own story and experience, now, I also share with my children that you should study any subject you like, but no matter what profession you study, you definitely need to be good at English," said musician Nguyen Van Chung.

Also within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee announced the S80 scholarship program (S80 International Education Scholarship) in 2025 with the theme "Generation S80, rising with Vietnamese knowledge". This is a nationwide educational scholarship program implemented by SunUni Academy in coordination with Thanh Nien Newspaper and strategic partners on the occasion of the important historical milestone of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (194-2025) and the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese Education sector (194-2025).
