Film about high-tech crime prevention – “The Firewall of Trang An” on air

Regarding this film project, Hanoi Radio and Television said that the birth of "Trang An Firewall" originated from the reality that cybercrime has become a burning issue in today's society. According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security , from the end of 2019 to mid-2024, cyber fraud cases caused losses of more than 12,000 billion VND. The "Mr. Pips" case alone, with the amount of money appropriated of nearly 6,000 billion VND, shows the sophistication, cunning and particularly serious consequences of this type of crime.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Son - Deputy General Director of Hanoi Radio and Television Station, a member of the creative team, the idea for the film was inspired by urgent petitions from voters in the capital and professional reports from the Hanoi Police. Faced with such a worrying situation, the team determined that it was necessary to reflect high-tech fraud tricks through cinematic language, helping people identify, be vigilant and proactively protect themselves. The film has topical significance when the capital Hanoi hosts the signing ceremony of the "United Nations Convention against Cybercrime" (Hanoi Convention) at the end of October 2025; in the context of global efforts to establish a "firewall" to protect cyberspace, "Trang An Firewall" appears as a companion voice, spreading the spirit of responsibility, vigilance and international cooperation.

“Trang An Firewall” was closely consulted by the Hanoi Police and developed from real cases, providing a realistic perspective on the fight against high-tech crime. The film exposes the complex transformation of this type of crime, from small-scale appropriation to organized lines operating as sophisticated as a business. The work depicts the tense battle of wits between the police force and a high-tech crime ring specializing in property fraud; at the same time, it exposes the psychological manipulation tricks through seminars and disguised “training” courses, where promises of “success” and “financial freedom” are used as bait to attract thousands of people.

At the same time, the investigation line closely follows the journey of tracing and decoding money laundering tricks and the clues hidden behind the complex encryption layer, recreating the mind-boggling battle between the two fronts. In particular, the film focuses on pointing out the psychological "blind spots" that make it easy for victims to fall into traps: The "super high profit" trap hits directly at greed and the illusion of getting rich; the contrast between the fake image of success and luxury of the scammer and the empty, deceitful nature behind it.

The film features many generations of artists, promising to bring multi-dimensional perspectives on the high-tech war. Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai plays the role of Colonel Tran Hoang, Head of PC02 - the person directly commanding the project; returning to the image of a police officer after two decades, he portrays the image of a soldier in the new era, steadfast, quick but also carrying within himself the very ordinary concerns of a father. In addition, there is the participation of Meritorious Artist Trinh Mai Nguyen, Meritorious Artist Thanh Binh, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Tan, actors Thanh Tu, Doan Quoc Dam, Thuy Anh, Truong Hoang, Luu Duy Khanh, Trong Minh...

According to the production team, “Trang An Firewall” was built as a social media project with practical meaning, aiming to raise public awareness of information security. The film affirms the role of Hanoi Radio and Television in using the power of communication to accompany the functional forces to protect national network security, while building a safe and healthy digital environment for the community.
