On the night of November 6, storm No. 13 made landfall in the South Central provinces. Although not in the eye of the storm, many coastal villages in Quang Ngai were devastated by huge waves.

After a night of sheltering from the storm, many residents living along the Chau Me coast, Sa Huynh ward, returned home and were shocked to see the scene of devastation.

Mr. Ho To (resident of Chau Me residential group) still could not believe his eyes when the house that helped his family avoid the sun and rain completely collapsed after just one night of rolling waves. " Last night when the storm hit Gia Lai province, I saw that there was only light wind in my area so I thought my house was safe. Unexpectedly, when I left the evacuation site and returned, the house was in a mess" - Mr. To said sadly.

Also on the night of high tide, 3 seafood huts and a house nearly 500m from the sea of Mr. Vo Van Thanh were swept away by the waves. Tables, chairs, refrigerators, and machinery were completely damaged. "The efforts of many years of building were considered to have gone down the drain. The total damage is estimated at about 2 billion VND. With the current terrible sea waves, I probably won't dare invest in a restaurant here anymore" - Mr. Thanh confided.

The tidal surge left behind a mess that left people frustrated.
Similarly, after a night of evacuation to avoid the storm, this morning when returning home, the people of the coastal village in Tinh Khe commune were shocked by the scene of devastation.
Houses collapsed, corrugated iron roofs flew away, sand covered the floors, and furniture was severely damaged, causing grief to the people of the coastal village.
“I have never seen such a fierce tide. The waves were unusually high, the water flooded into the house about 0.5m deep, the sand was more than 20cm thick, and the concrete fence was also collapsed,” said a resident.
