From early morning, officers and soldiers of the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command spread out in all directions to help people overcome the consequences of the storm and stabilize their lives. In Long Phung commune, members of the No. 1 Assault Team (Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command) made efforts to help families re-roof their houses and clean up.

Watching the soldiers moving tiles onto the roof, I saw many comrades with scratches on their arms and legs. Before I could ask, Captain Vu Thanh Hoa, Propaganda Assistant (Propaganda Department, Political Department, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command) explained: "These are traces of drinking water, due to many days of contact with dirty water after rain and flood."

Officers and soldiers of the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command helped the family of Ms. Vo Thi Can (76 years old, residing in Thanh Long village, Long Phung commune) re-roof their house.

According to Captain Vu Thanh Hoa, during the rainy and flood days at the end of October, he and members of the shock troops were constantly present in areas flooded by rain and floods, helping people overcome the consequences. This morning, taking advantage of the clear weather, they quickly continued to move to areas affected by the storm to help people overcome the consequences.

After many hours of hard work, many houses in Long Phung commune were re-roofed and cleaned by soldiers. Mrs. Vo Thi Can (76 years old, living in Thanh Long village, Long Phung commune) emotionally said: “Last night, I went to take shelter from the storm. This morning, when I came back, I saw my house in disarray and the roof was damaged. I didn’t know what to do alone. I was so happy to have soldiers re-roof my house and clean my house and garden. Thank you very much, Uncle Ho’s soldiers!”

Support families with limited resources to clean up fallen trees in the garden.

Among the officers and soldiers participating in helping people overcome the consequences of the storm, many comrades also had their houses damaged or suffered losses, but they still put aside personal feelings to help the people.

A typical example is militiaman Le Vinh Diep, a soldier of the Standing Militia Squad (Long Phung Commune Military Command, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command), even though his father's house had its roof blown off, he still volunteered to help the families with few people overcome the consequences before returning home to support his family.

Help single-parent families clean their homes.

The tornado on the afternoon of November 6th damaged and blew off the roofs of 45 houses in Long Phung commune. Colonel Trinh Cong Son, Deputy Political Commissar of the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, said: In order for families to stabilize their lives soon, the unit has divided them into groups of about 5-7 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local forces to support and help families with few people to clean up their houses and re-roof their houses.

Talking to us, Lieutenant Colonel Tran The Phan, Commander of the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, said: To urgently overcome the consequences after the storm, the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command mobilized 2,193 officers and soldiers of the regular army and militia to coordinate with other forces to help localities and people re-roof houses, clear fallen trees, clean roads, schools, and medical stations.
