Meaningful gift on November 20

At the program, Do Minh Tri (27 years old), a student majoring in information technology, excellently received the title of “Tutor with impressive teaching hours”. Tri has been a tutor for 6 years, from when he was a student at the University of Technology (VNU-HCM) until he transferred to study at Saigon University.

Over the past 6 years, Tri has tutored more than 20 middle and high school students, mainly in math and English. Each week, Tri teaches 5-7 sessions, each session lasting about 1.5 hours, an average of more than 10 hours/week.

"Most students who choose to study with a tutor are those who have difficulty studying at the center or cannot understand the lessons in class. When I guide a student to understand the lesson and make progress, I myself am "recharged", happy and gradually love the job more" - Tri shared.

Despite his busy teaching schedule, sometimes having to stay up late to prepare lessons, Tri still perseveres. Because this is a job that helps Tri become financially independent and also brings professional joy.

Unlike Tri, Le Khanh Du (21 years old), a final year student at the University of Technology (VNU-HCM), has "fallen in love" with the online teaching model. Since 2023, Du has taught 9 classes, including 8 online classes.

“At first, I struggled because I couldn’t point out the students’ mistakes directly. But then I gradually learned how to explain things more slowly, clearly, and intuitively. In my opinion, the most important thing when teaching online is to build trust and interaction. When there is trust, learning becomes truly effective,” Du shared.

Get a good job by working part-time

Tran Nguyen Thuy Vy, a 4th year student majoring in English at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, is one of the excellent bilingual tutors, always bringing positive energy to students.

Vy started her tutoring job at the end of 2022, mainly teaching Vietnamese primary school students studying at international schools such as Vinschool and Wellspring. As an English language education student, working as a tutor for Vy is a golden opportunity for her to solidify her career.

In each lesson, Vy encourages students to express their feelings and talk about their daily activities in English. “I do not teach English in an academic way, but aim to make it closer, helping children see that this language is really easy to understand and interesting,” Vy said.

Ms. Phung Thi Phuong Thao, Branch Manager of eTeacher Tutor Company Limited, said that each tutor is a “silent teacher”. Although they are young, they are making efforts every day, creating positive changes for education , contributing to spreading the spirit of learning and arousing confidence in students.
