Mr. Le Truong Son, born in 1971, graduated with a degree in Economic Law from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law in 1994. He then continued his graduate studies and successfully defended his doctoral thesis at the same school.
During his career, Mr. Son was a lecturer at the Faculty of Economic Law, then worked at the Department of Scientific Research Management and International Cooperation, the Department of Postgraduate Studies and many other management positions.
From April 2013 to 2023, he held the position of Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. After that, he was assigned to run the school and assumed the position of Rector for the 2020-2025 term.
With the new decision, Mr. Le Truong Son continues to be the Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law for the 2025-2030 term.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law will open two new majors: International Business and Finance - Banking, along with a distance learning Law program; undergraduate enrollment will increase by 33% but the benchmark scores for all majors will remain stable. The high-quality program will increase by 152% with 702 students admitted.
With postgraduate level, there are 936 students; short-term training increased by 30% with 48 courses attracting more than 2,100 students. Regarding scientific research, the school has 29 international articles and 12 ministerial, national and city-level topics. With Long Phuoc 3 facility put into use from October 2025, marking a new step in infrastructure development.
The school currently has nearly 500 staff and employees, including more than 330 lecturers, including 4 professors, 20 associate professors and more than 300 doctors and masters.
