From early morning, at the training points of the officers and soldiers of Son Duong Island squad (PTKV 3 Command - Ky Anh, Ha Tinh Provincial Military Command) they were engrossed in practicing tactics with the topic "Infantry platoon fighting the enemy in a secret attack to protect the island".

Under the salty sun on the island, drops of sweat rolled down the cheeks, soaking the shoulders of each soldier, but each person showed determination, effort to overcome difficulties, ready to accept and excellently complete tasks when the situation arose.

Major Tran The Thien, Chief of Son Duong Island, said: "In the context of the new mission, along with increasing training on island protection plans, not being passive or surprised in any situation, the unit has focused on supplementing and perfecting the system of documents, plans, and combat readiness plans, determined to firmly protect the sovereignty and security of the province's sea and islands."

Coming to the PTKV 2 - Vu Quang Command, we saw the unit's officers and soldiers working diligently and enthusiastically on their professional work. Some edited and built up the determination to fight, some wrote documents to coordinate with the communes on the preparation for military recruitment, some arranged and stored documents and papers...

The unit was newly established and put into operation, with inadequate conditions and a large, complex area, but with a high sense of responsibility, the unit's officers and soldiers clearly demonstrated their determination from the very first day, striving to complete the assigned tasks well.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Trong Binh, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the PTKV 2 Command - Vu Quang shared: "Along with performing professional tasks, these days, the unit has assigned a team of cadres to always proactively grasp the area, coordinate to support and help the Commune Military Command to build militia forces, arrange reserve mobilization forces, and prepare all aspects for the first year of military recruitment after the merger."

In Vu Quang commune, Ha Tinh province, although it was late at night, the office of the Commune Military Command was still lit. The commanders, deputy commanders and some militiamen were still busy preparing documents and plans to coordinate the exercise with Huong Quang Border Guard Station.

Comrade Bui Dinh Duc, Commander of the Military Command of Vu Quang Commune, shared: “Vu Quang is a newly merged commune from 4 communes, with nearly 50km of border adjacent to Laos. The area is large and complex, the infrastructure potential is still difficult and lacking, which puts increasingly high demands on local military and defense tasks. The upcoming coordination exercise with the Border Guard Station in the area will be the basis for building, supplementing and perfecting the system of documents and combat plans, thereby helping the locality consolidate its potential and KVPT posture in the new situation."

PTKV 2 Command - Vu Quang focuses on improving training quality.

Implementing the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus according to the 2-level local government model, in recent times, the Military Command of Ha Tinh province has advised the local Party Committee and government to propose many breakthrough policies and solutions to strengthen the potential and posture of the KVPT, build a national defense posture associated with the people's security posture, all-people border defense, and solid border security, which is a strategic policy to ensure that the KVPT operates effectively in all situations.

Accordingly, the Provincial Military Command has directed localities to promptly review, adjust, supplement, and complete the determinations and combat plans of the KVPT; commune-level defense combat plans; develop plans for natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, and disease prevention and control. At the same time, survey the civil works system, be ready to mobilize for national defense and participate in appraising socio-economic development projects associated with ensuring national defense and security in the province, meeting the requirements and tasks of construction and operation of the KVPT.

The PTKV Command model will undertake the functions of advising the Provincial Military Command and local Party committees and authorities on military and defense work; organizing training, mobilization, and combat readiness when necessary.

Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thang, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, affirmed: “In complicated situations involving many communes and wards, the PTKV Command will directly mobilize forces according to the approved plan; command rescue and combat to protect the area; coordinate with superior agencies to handle the situation; act as a focal point for coordination, ensuring synchronization and unity. Thereby, ensuring the PTKV posture is "interconnected - solid - widespread", meeting the requirements and tasks of being ready to fight to protect the Fatherland".
