Linking legal education with building military-civilian solidarity

Artillery Brigade 382 (Military Region 1) is known as the main ground firepower unit, with the tradition of "brass feet, iron shoulders, good fighting, accurate shooting". Not only has it completed its training and combat readiness tasks well, in recent years, the Brigade has also been a bright spot in the work of disseminating and educating the law, training discipline and bonding with the people, contributing to building a solid national defense in the province.

Realizing that the sense of law enforcement and discipline is a decisive factor in overall quality and combat strength, the Party Committee - Command of Brigade 382 has proactively deployed many creative measures, suitable to the unit's characteristics. Models such as "One law per week", "One good deed per day", "Law Day", "Psychological and legal consulting group" have been maintained in order and promoted positive effects.

Colonel Do Khac Long, Party Committee Secretary and Political Commissar of the 382nd Artillery Brigade, said: Dissemination, education of law and discipline training are key tasks that determine the strength of the unit. We consider the soldiers' understanding and voluntary compliance with the law and discipline as a measure of responsibility, solidarity and trust in the Party Committee and commanders. Thanks to that, the legal awareness and discipline of officers and soldiers have continuously improved. For many years, the Brigade has not had any serious violations, common violations have decreased significantly; the results of annual legal awareness inspections have reached 100% of the requirements.

Along with internal work, Brigade 382 also actively implemented Project 1371 of the Ministry of National Defense on promoting the role of the People's Army in disseminating and educating the law, mobilizing people to comply with the law at the grassroots level; Project on propagating and mobilizing ethnic minorities to fight and defeat plots to divide the great national unity bloc.

One of the typical models is the “Military-Civilian Law Bookcase” located at the Cultural House of Thinh Hamlet, Phu Son Hamlet, Tan Cuong Commune and Ao Cang Hamlet, Ba Xuyen Ward. The bookcase has hundreds of books and documents close to life along with new legal documents, resolutions and directives that are regularly updated.

People can read on the spot or borrow them to take home. After nearly a year, the model has attracted more than 500 people to read and borrow documents, including many youth union members, women's union members and the elderly.

The military-civilian legal bookcase of Brigade 382 has promoted positive effects, contributing to improving legal knowledge for officers, soldiers and people.

In addition to reading books at the cultural house, people are also guided and explained by officers and soldiers of the Brigade about the regulations of the law and new policies of the State. Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, a resident of Phu Son hamlet, shared: Since the bookcase was built, people have had more places to learn about the law, especially regulations related to land, order, traffic safety or military service.

Not only does Brigade 382 regularly participate in mass mobilization work, helping people develop socio-economy and build new rural areas. The unit has mobilized tens of thousands of working days, thousands of vehicles and equipment to help localities build welfare works, charity houses, rural roads, etc.

Thanks to the synchronous, creative and effective implementation of models, over the past years, the Party Committee of Artillery Brigade 382 has always excellently completed all tasks; the unit has achieved the title of "Comprehensively Strong - Exemplary, Typical" for many consecutive years, and was awarded the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal by the State in 2025.
