Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Cao Thi Hoa An inspected the flood situation in O Loan commune.

According to local reports, heavy rains and floods have caused local flooding in many villages and hamlets. In O Loan commune, some areas are partially flooded in 5 villages. In addition to ensuring the safety of the people, the locality is mobilizing forces to scoop sand, clear the sea gate, and limit flooding in the area around O Loan lagoon.

In Hoa Xuan commune, storm No. 13 passed without causing any human casualties. Total economic damage was estimated at 1.1 billion VND; of which, 23 houses collapsed/damaged and 132 houses had their roofs blown off.

The People's Committee of O Loan commune put up warning signs, put up ropes and arranged for people to be on duty to prevent vehicles from passing through deeply flooded areas.

Through the on-site inspection, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Cao Thi Hoa An requested localities to continue to focus on flood prevention and control, and absolutely not be subjective when the risk of flash floods, landslides, and localized flooding is very high.

Local authorities must regularly monitor weather developments, promptly warn people in riverside areas, low-lying areas, and areas at risk of landslides; proactively evacuate people to safe places when necessary. Disaster prevention and control forces at the grassroots level must be on duty 24/7, ensuring readiness to respond when situations arise.
