The Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts that on the night of November 8 and early morning of November 9, typhoon Phoenix could reach super typhoon level with winds of up to 185km/h (level 16) when approaching Luzon Island (Philippines).
After passing Luzon Island into the East Sea, the storm is likely to change direction and move north, affecting Taiwan (China) and gradually weakening. By November 11, the strongest wind near the storm's center will be about 130km/h (level 12-13).
