The reception ceremony took place with the participation of representatives of the family of the late musician An Thuyen, musician Vo Vang, along with a number of relatives, friends and students of the two musicians.
Ms. Tran Viet Hoa - Director of National Archives Center III - represented the unit receiving documents from 1975 to 2025, including composition materials, choral and instrumental music, manuscripts, images and biographical documents related to the musical careers of the two musicians.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Viet Hoa shared: "We are very happy to have the consent of the families of musician An Thuyen and musician Vo Vang, who arranged time to visit the document areas.
In particular, in recent times, families have also cooperated with the center to survey and bring a number of documents, including manuscripts, photos, as well as documents related to the life and artistic activities of musicians, to the center to serve the work of preserving and promoting the cultural and artistic values of the country.

Ms. Hoa also emphasized that the center currently manages nearly 200 personal documents, including those of political activists, scientists, artists, including many musicians, demonstrating the richness and diversity of the national archives.
“We hope you will continue to spend time visiting the storage areas, to learn more about the process of preserving and promoting the value of these precious heritages,” said Ms. Hoa.
Previously, on October 23, a working delegation from the National Archives Center III led by Ms. La Thi Duyen - Deputy Director of the Center - visited the family of the late musician An Thuyen in Hanoi to survey the documents, preparing for the reception ceremony.
In a warm and solemn atmosphere, Mrs. Ngo Thi Huyen Lam - the musician's wife - shared her emotional feelings when looking back on the journey of preserving her husband's musical heritage over the past decade.
She detailed the existing collections, expressing her wish that her husband's manuscripts, memorabilia and musical legacy be preserved in a professional environment.
Valuable archive for cultural research and preservation
The reception of documents from musicians An Thuyen and Vo Vang has great significance in the work of preserving Vietnamese cultural and artistic values.
The documents include manuscripts, memorabilia, images and composition records, providing a comprehensive view of the creative process, dedication and passion of the two musicians for revolutionary, folk and chamber music.
Ms. Tran Viet Hoa said: "This November, the event of receiving documents from two musicians is even more meaningful, as these are individuals with a long history of dedication to the country and have been recognized by the State through awards.
The documents we receive today will be a valuable source of information for research, study and dissemination of Vietnamese culture to future generations."
According to the plan, National Archives Center III will continue to organize, preserve and digitize these documents, creating favorable conditions for researchers, scholars and the public to consult and display.
The event is not only an opportunity to pay tribute to two musicians who have devoted their lives to Vietnamese music, but also affirms the important role of preserving and promoting the value of musical heritage, becoming a source of inspiration for future generations of artists and musicians.
National Archives Center III completed the editing and scientific arrangement of these documents.
In the coming time, the Center will conduct research and promote the value of the document collection to serve the public's needs for research, study and creation, while spreading humanistic values, patriotism, and national identity through music.

Musician An Thuyen was born on August 15, 1949 in Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province. He is one of the big names with profound influence in modern Vietnamese music.
The Vi Giam voice and the soul of Nghe An have penetrated his blood and become an endless source of inspiration for his compositions. He is not only a talented artist but also an honorary Major General of the Vietnam People's Army, leaving behind a timeless "musical legacy", forever anchored in the hearts of Vietnamese music lovers.
Musician An Thuyen is famous for his compositions rich in folk melodies, especially Nghe Tinh folk songs, with profound lyricism. Typical songs: Ca dao em va toi, Neo doi wharf que, Dem nghe hat do dua nho Bac, Ha Tinh minh thuong, Hue thuong, Em chon luong nay ...
In addition, he also composed many plays, film music, instrumental music (such as Concerto for flute and symphony orchestra) and music for about 60 plays, tuong and cheo.
For his contributions to the music industry, he was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal, First Class Military Exploit Medal, and the title of Determined Soldier (12 consecutive years).

Musician Vo Vang, whose birth name is Vu Van Vang, was born on April 10, 1952 in Phu Son commune, Hung Nhan town, Hung Ha district, Thai Binh province. He is a musician who has grown up in the Army and has devoted his entire life to composing music, leaving behind a rich legacy, especially epic, revolutionary and chamber music.
He is one of the authors who participated in composing and directing the massive and magnificent art program celebrating 1000 years of Thang Long - Hanoi.
His composing career is still unceasing, a model of a dedicated artist, using his own life and ideals to create sounds that are both majestic and profound, contributing to enriching the Vietnamese musical treasure.
Musician Vo Vang is famous for his ability to create large-scale works, rich in emotion and serious in structure. He composed many famous works such as: Mother's Footprints. Trio (Violon, Cello, Piano), Where the Sun and Moon Meet ; Choir: Sacred Sea and Sky, Forever Uncle Ho's Soldiers ; Children's Song: Every Time I Look at Uncle Ho's Photo .
He is also the author of many important choral and chamber instrumental works, notably the Sacred Sea and Sky Chorus, which demonstrates his devotion to the themes of history and national sovereignty.
Musician Vo Vang was honored to receive the First Class Military Exploit Medal and the Fatherland Protection Medal. In 2011, he was one of 10 faces awarded the title of Outstanding Citizen of the Capital.
In 2022, he was honored to receive the State Prize for Literature and Arts with the works: Where the sun and moon meet, Hue Improvisation and Choir: Sacred Sea and Sky, along with many other noble awards.
