Accordingly, the exam registration schedule is expected to start from 9:00 a.m. on December 28, 2025 to 4:30 p.m. on February 7, 2026.
Thus, compared to 2025, the exam registration schedule is moved forward by nearly 2 months (in 2025, exam registration is from 9:00 a.m. on February 23 to 4:30 p.m. on March 2).
The system will open for candidates to choose the second exam session (if there are still seats available according to the exam scale) from 9:00 a.m. on February 8, 2026 to 9:00 a.m. on February 14, 2026 (in 2025, the system will open for candidates to choose the second exam session from 9:00 a.m. on March 3 to 14 days before the official exam date).

The registration period may end earlier when all the exam seats have been filled. The system only allows one account to log in and operate on one computer device at the same time.
This year's exams will take place about 2 weeks earlier than in 2025, from March 7, 2026 to May 24, 2026 (in 2025, the official exam schedule will start from March 15-16).
Candidates will take the exam at the following locations: Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh ... Students should pay attention to the exam schedule of their high school, avoid choosing the same HSA exam session.
Candidates must pay the registration fee and take the exam online within 96 hours of completing the exam registration. If the fee is not paid after 96 hours, the exam will be automatically canceled. The exam fee is 600,000 VND/candidate/exam. The fee is non-refundable for any reason.
The system allows candidates to register for a maximum of 2 exams per year. Two consecutive exams must be at least 28 days apart.
Exam notice will be sent via email and notified to the exam account 7 days before the official exam date.
The Hanoi National University's Competency Assessment Test is conducted on a computer, lasting 195 minutes and consisting of 3 parts, including 2 compulsory parts in the fields of mathematics & data processing (50 questions, 75 minutes) and literature - language (50 questions, 60 minutes). The third part (50 questions, 60 minutes) allows candidates to choose between science or English.
Each test section may include an additional unscored test question (the test system will add time for test questions).
Candidates can look up exam results and receive score reports via their accounts 2 weeks after the exam ends.
Paper score reports will be sent by post to the address and phone number declared in the HSA exam registration account within 3 weeks after the end of the exam (for candidates who registered to receive a paper copy).
The 2025 capacity assessment exam of Hanoi National University attracted more than 90,000 candidates to participate in 6 rounds, with more than 100 universities using the results for admission.
