University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi received the Third Class Labor Medal

TPO - Hanoi University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, received the Third Class Labor Medal on the occasion of its 5th anniversary and 15 years of tradition.

Hanoi University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, was established on October 27, 2020, on the basis of upgrading the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (a unit established in 2010).

From the initial training scale (2012) with only two training majors (Medicine, Pharmacy) and 100 students, up to now, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy has had 6 undergraduate training programs, enrolling over 1,000 students/year. At the postgraduate level, the school has implemented 30 programs (Residency, Specialist I and Master), enrolling over 500 students/year; in the near future, it will enroll master training programs for international students and open more doctoral training programs.

According to Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh, Principal of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in the journey of construction and development, the team has continuously grown in quality, quantity, enthusiasm and intelligence with 14 Professors, 75 Associate Professors, and 139 Doctors.

In just the first 9 months of the year, the school has published 158 international articles, won 3 scientific research awards at Hanoi National University, had 5 outstanding scientists, and many training programs have been quality-accredited according to national standards.

"The past 5 years have been a period of remarkable development and the joy was multiplied when the school was honored to receive the Labor Medal from the President . This award is a worthy recognition for the tireless efforts and solidarity of generations of teachers and students of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy", Professor Le Ngoc Thanh shared.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Minh Son, Director of Hanoi National University, said that the major resolutions of the Politburo opened a new period full of opportunities for higher education.

For the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, this is a golden opportunity to affirm its pioneering role, promote interdisciplinary and inter-disciplinary strengths, combine scientific and technological knowledge with modern medicine, form research centers, transfer technology and train high-quality medical human resources, linking training - research - medical examination and treatment - community service.

To effectively implement the Party's major policies stated in the Politburo's resolutions, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son recommended that the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Health consider building a special coordination mechanism between higher education and health care, to promote training associated with research - application - practice; support schools in investing in modern facilities, developing a team of high-quality lecturers and scientists and implementing research programs, transferring medical - biological technology, digital medicine, artificial intelligence in health care...

The Director of Hanoi National University proposed that the two ministries support smart university hospital models and training - research - practical medical centers, thereby helping the school become a hub for training high-quality medical human resources.
