Ta Chi Nhu, the 7th highest mountain in Vietnam, located in Hanh Phuc commune, Lao Cai province, is famous as an ideal cloud-watching spot and one of the most beautiful places to watch the sunset among the top 10 highest mountains in the country. (Photo: Chen Flow)

Part of the Pú Luông mountain range of the Hoàng Liên Sơn massif, Tà Chì Nhù, along with Tà Xùa, are two peaks favored by trekking communities. While Tà Xùa typically requires a 3-day, 2-night trek due to its challenging terrain, Tà Chì Nhù is considered easier, conquering it in just 2 days and 1 night. (Photo: Chen Flow)

The climb up Ta Chi Nhu mountain is usually divided into three stages. The first stage starts from the foot of the mountain, passing a lead mine at an altitude of about 1,200 m, ending at a stream for lunch. The second stage extends from the stream to the overnight camp at an altitude of 2,400 m. The final stage, from the camp to the summit, is considered by many tourists to be the most beautiful part of the entire trip. Photo by Nguyen Trong Cung

The trail, approximately 2.5 km long and taking 2-3 hours depending on fitness level, leads through open, barren hills. If it's the right season, visitors can admire vibrant fields of pink and purple Dendrobium orchids, also known as dragon's honey grass. (Photo by Nguyen Trong Cung)

The terrain of Ta Chi Nhu changes dramatically from base to summit: low-lying forests, streams, dwarf bamboo forests, grasslands, and then up to the barren hills near the summit. The open, airy space at the summit allows visitors to take in panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountain ranges. Photo by Cu Mit

Therefore, many groups choose to climb to the summit in the afternoon to enjoy the sunset. As the sun sets, the central valley of Tram Tau changes color from yellow, pink, purple, then blends into the blue of the late afternoon before night falls, creating a stunning and unforgettable scene. Groups often stay at campsites, prepare dinner early, and take advantage of the morning to watch the sunrise, but watching the sunset from the summit is also a captivating experience. The trek isn't too difficult, suitable for those with good health, a good mental preparation, and a solid understanding of basic outdoor skills. Photo by Tran Khoa Thuy
