Tropical depression in the East Sea heads towards Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa, Central region welcomes heavy rain

At 7am this morning (December 2), a strong level 6 tropical depression moved over the northwest sea area of ​​the central East Sea. It is forecasted that tomorrow morning the tropical depression will weaken into a low pressure area, while many provinces and cities in the Central region will begin to experience widespread moderate to heavy rain.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on December 2, the center of the tropical depression was located at about 14.2 degrees north latitude; 111.2 degrees east longitude, in the northwest sea area of ​​the central East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 8. Moving slowly in the south-southwest direction at about 5 km/h.

At 7:00 a.m. on December 3, the center of the tropical depression was at about 12.7 degrees north latitude; 110.5 degrees east longitude, over the sea of ​​Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa province. The tropical depression moved southwest at a speed of 5-10 km/hour and gradually weakened into a low pressure area. Natural disaster risk: Level 3 in the northwest sea area of ​​the central East Sea, the sea off the coast of Gia Lai - Dak Lak province.

At sea, the northwest sea area between the East Sea and the sea off the coast of Gia Lai-Dak Lak provinces has strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 8; waves 2-4m high, rough seas.

Vessels operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are susceptible to the impact of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.

Central region is about to have widespread heavy rain

From the night of December 2 to the end of December 3, the area of ​​Hue city, Da Nang city, the eastern part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will have moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall from 40-100mm, locally very heavy rain over 150mm.

On the night of December 3, the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city and the east of Quang Ngai province will have moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall from 20-40mm, locally very heavy rain over 70mm. Warning of risk of heavy rain (>100mm/3 hours).

On the day and night of December 4, the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city and the east of Quang Ngai province will have moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall from 30-70mm, locally very heavy rain over 120mm.

Moderate to heavy rain is likely to last until December 5. It is forecasted that the total rainfall from the night of December 2 to the night of December 4 in Hue city, Da Nang city, and the east of Quang Ngai province will generally be 100-200mm, with some places receiving over 300mm; in Quang Tri province, and the east of the provinces from Gia Lai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa, it will generally be 40-100mm, with some places receiving over 150mm.
