iPhone 18 Pro design remains unchanged
The famous leak source on Weibo – Digital Chat Station – recently shared more information about the iPhone 18 Pro series and the low-cost iPhone 17e model expected to launch in 2026.

The iPhone 18 Pro could be the first to completely remove the Dynamic Island, leaving only a small “hole-punch” selfie camera in the middle.
While many details are still quite vague, these revelations partly reveal the design and feature plans that Apple is preparing for the next generation of iPhone.
According to this source, the iPhone 18 Pro will retain the same rear camera cluster design as the iPhone 17 Pro. Specifically, the horizontal "camera ridge" on the back - which has been a feature since the 2025 generation - will not change. This is a move that is considered "easy to predict", because Apple rarely makes two major design changes in two consecutive years.
Maintaining a familiar design language will not only help Apple save on manufacturing costs, but also keep the Pro models' brand identity clear. The bigger changes, if any, will likely come from the display technology and camera system inside.
Face ID hidden under the screen
Besides the design information, Digital Chat Station also reiterated the rumor about Face ID technology hidden under the screen that was previously shared.
Accordingly, the iPhone 18 Pro will be the first line to completely remove the Dynamic Island part, leaving only a small "hole-punch" selfie camera in the middle.
If true, this would help the iPhone 18 Pro achieve a display ratio of up to 98% of the front, making the device one of the smartphones with the most "complete" screens on the market.
Under-screen Face ID technology is said to be being tested by Apple and its Korean partners, aiming to maintain accurate facial recognition without affecting display quality.
However, many experts warn that deploying the technology on a large scale still has risks – especially in terms of brightness, contrast and facial recognition performance in low-light conditions.
iPhone 17e – low-cost iPhone model with Dynamic Island
Another notable detail is the iPhone 17e, a low-cost iPhone model that Apple is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.
According to this source, the 17e will use the Dynamic Island design, replacing the outdated "rabbit ears" of the previous SE lines. This is considered a major improvement in the low-cost segment, helping the iPhone 17e look more modern and consistent with the high-end lines.
