General Secretary To Lam and his wife arrive in London, beginning an official visit to the UK.

On the morning of October 28 local time (this afternoon Vietnam time), General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, arrived at London Stansted Airport, beginning an official visit to the UK.

Welcoming General Secretary To Lam and his wife and delegation at the airport, on the UK side were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Seema Malhotra, British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew, and representative of the Foreign Office's Protocol Department Stephen Walton. On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Do Minh Hung and his wife; and embassy staff.

Ambassador Do Minh Hung and representatives of the British Foreign Office's Protocol Department boarded the plane to welcome General Secretary To Lam and his wife.

General Secretary To Lam and his wife got off the plane and shook hands with officials and cadres from both sides, happily welcomed by the officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy.

The visit of General Secretary To Lam and his wife took place on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - UK Strategic Partnership (2010-2025), marking an important milestone for the two countries to look back on the past cooperation journey, evaluate outstanding achievements, and set out a new vision and development orientation for bilateral relations.

General Secretary To Lam is expected to hold talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and meet with leaders of the National Assembly to discuss and agree on measures to promote the strategic partnership between the two countries; attend and give a speech at a high-level economic conference with many large British enterprises to enhance cooperation in finance - banking, energy, science - technology and green development.

At Oxford University - the UK's leading research and training center, General Secretary To Lam is expected to deliver an important policy speech on the vision for the framework of Vietnam - UK relations and the renovation and development orientation of Vietnam in the era of national development.

The General Secretary will meet with representatives of the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in the UK, affirming the Party and State's consistent policy towards the Vietnamese community abroad and the General Secretary's attention to the Vietnamese community in the UK.
