The world situation continues to fluctuate and is influenced by many factors, including policy adjustments from major countries; declining confidence in globalization and multilateralism; escalating geopolitical conflicts and outbreaks in many places, while non-traditional security challenges are increasingly complex. Scientific and technological advances bring about breakthrough opportunities, but also create unprecedented security challenges.
The Asia -Pacific region continues to be the growth engine of the world economy, but is also the focus of fierce strategic competition between major countries. Among them, APEC, with the participation of major economies in the Asia-Pacific, continues to affirm its position as the leading economic cooperation mechanism in the region. Despite many positive results in recent times, APEC cooperation still faces many difficulties in promoting common consensus.
With the theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow”, APEC 2025 emphasizes three main priorities: Connectivity, Innovation and Prosperity. As the host, Korea has proactively and flexibly balanced the interests of members since the beginning of 2025 to promote common consensus.
The APEC 2025 Summit Week is expected to be an important forum for APEC leaders to enhance dialogue, consolidate trust, promote cooperation to seek solutions to economic and trade challenges, promote innovation and sustainable, comprehensive development in the region.
Emphasizing that APEC continues to be one of the important priorities in foreign policy, as well as affirming strong support for the agenda contents that host Korea prioritizes promoting in APEC Year 2025, Vietnam has participated and actively contributed to APEC cooperation in many channels and at many levels, proposed and implemented many initiatives and projects on digital transformation, green transformation, and climate change response; at the same time, actively deployed preparations in all aspects for the third time assuming the role of APEC host in 2027.
Vietnam-Korea relations continue to develop strongly, substantially and comprehensively in many fields, especially after the two countries officially upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in December 2022.
Regular high-level contacts, especially the State visit to South Korea by General Secretary To Lam in August 2025, have strongly strengthened political trust between the two countries. South Korea is one of Vietnam's leading economic partners, especially in the fields of trade and investment.
Attending the 32nd APEC Summit Week in Korea, Vietnam continues to affirm its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization of foreign relations, as well as its sense of responsibility for multilateral cooperation in general and APEC in particular.
Vietnam emphasizes its support for a balanced, sustainable, and mutually beneficial partnership, and highlights the need for international cooperation in sustainable development, high-quality growth, and energy transition while ensuring energy security and sustainable supply chains.
In the context of dialogue and cooperation based on international law continuing to be an important foundation for maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, APEC plays an indispensable role in regional economic cooperation and governance, connecting the world's leading economic centers, maintaining fair and stable trade and investment flows, bringing practical benefits to all parties.
The initiatives and commitments made by Vietnam at the APEC Summit Week continue to affirm the contributions, active participation and close coordination between Vietnam and member economies. The bilateral meetings of President Luong Cuong and the delegation have contributed to promoting the cooperation between Vietnam and APEC, international partners and friends to continue to go deeper and more effectively.
The Vietnamese high-ranking delegation attending the APEC Summit Week and bilateral working in Korea is a step to implement and concretize the commitment between the two countries' leaders, strengthen political trust and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Korea; implement the contents of the Joint Statement on deepening the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the Action Plan to implement the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Wishing President Luong Cuong and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation a great success in their visit to the APEC Summit Week and bilateral working session in the Republic of Korea, continuing to affirm Vietnam's active participation and contribution in APEC, along with its commitment to supporting multilateralism.
At the same time, it contributes to strengthening political trust, bringing the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to a new height, for peace, cooperation and sustainable development in the region and the world.
