
President Luong Cuong leaves for the 32nd APEC Summit Week in South Korea.
The official delegation accompanying the President included Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son; Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy; Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province Ho Van Mung; Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho; Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Commission Hoang Van Tra; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang; Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi; Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Van Hoi; Chairman of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry Pham Tan Cong; Assistant to the President Duong Quoc Hung.
Vietnam officially became a member of APEC at the 10th APEC Foreign Ministers' Meeting on November 15, 1998 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). This was an important milestone in the process of implementing Vietnam's open, diversified, multilateral and international economic integration foreign policy.
During 27 years of participating in APEC, Vietnam has left many strong marks in APEC cooperation, and has always been assessed as a member with many positive, responsible and effective contributions to realizing APEC's cooperation goals and visions as well as enhancing the role of the Forum.
A special feature of the APEC Forum is the active participation of the Asia-Pacific business community. The APEC Business Advisory Council consists of 63 members representing leading businesses in the region, each member economy appoints three representatives directly selected by economic leaders. Members are invited to attend the Dialogue with Economic Leaders during the Summit Week to present specific recommendations to promote APEC cooperation.
Vietnamese leaders, along with leaders of leading economies such as the United States, China, Canada, Singapore, Indonesia... were also invited to speak at sessions of the APEC Business Summit and exchange with top executives of the Asia-Pacific region.
APEC 2025 has the theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow”, with three main priorities of Connectivity-Innovation-Prosperity. With its economic, cultural and artistic strengths, Korea has promoted many new initiatives, especially three initiatives on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cooperation; Responding to Demographic Changes and Cultural and Creative Industry Cooperation.
The President's participation in the 32nd APEC Summit Week will contribute to demonstrating Vietnam's strong commitment to the process of economic cooperation and connectivity in the Asia-Pacific region, while affirming Vietnam's role as an active, responsible and increasingly proactive member in shaping the regional cooperation structure, towards hosting APEC 2027.
