Da Nang promotes tourism to the Malaysian market

In order to expand the international tourist market and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, Da Nang city is implementing a series of continuous promotional activities, targeting the Malaysian market - one of the leading potential tourist sources in Southeast Asia.

After the Central Vietnam tourism introduction program in Kuala Lumpur in August 2025 and the activity of welcoming the Malaysian KOLs delegation from October 17 to 21, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City continued to organize a tour group (famtrip) from Malaysia to visit, survey and explore tourism cooperation opportunities in Da Nang from October 26 to 30, on the occasion of Vietjet Air launching the direct flight route Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang.

Expectations to expand bilateral tourism cooperation

The Malaysian famtrip delegation included 22 representatives from professional and reputable travel companies. This was an opportunity for businesses from both sides to directly exchange, seek partners, and expand the tourist market between Da Nang (Vietnam) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

The survey trip is expected to contribute to promoting the image of Da Nang - a dynamic and friendly destination - to Malaysian tourists, while spreading the appeal of the Central region of Vietnam.

During the program, the famtrip group experienced typical destinations of Da Nang such as Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area, Da Nang Museum, Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa..., and stayed at high-class hotels Wyndham Danang Golden Bay and Wink Icon Danang Riverside.

In addition, visitors can enjoy the art program "Ao Dai Show", explore unique cuisine at restaurants Galina, Son Duong...

In particular, to strengthen connection and cooperation, on the evening of October 27, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City organized the program "Welcome Dinner - Connection Exchange" between the Malaysian famtrip delegation and local tourism businesses. The event is an opportunity to introduce the potential and unique tourism products of Da Nang, and at the same time promote the formation of tour packages linking the two markets.

Direct flights expand development opportunities

According to information from Vietjet Air, “Da Nang has long been imprinted in the hearts of tourists with the iconic Golden Bridge, beautiful beaches and unique culinary quintessence. Not only is it an ideal destination for relaxation and exploration, Da Nang is also the gateway to the Central Heritage Road, to ancient Hoi An, the poetic Hue Imperial City and the mysterious My Son Sanctuary.

Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia's modern metropolis - is famous for its Petronas Twin Towers, Chinatown, temples and religious structures bearing the imprints of Islam, Christianity and Hinduism, creating a vibrant multicultural picture day and night.

Malaysian tour group comes to experience and exchange tourism cooperation opportunities in Da Nang

Malaysia is currently among the top 10 international tourist markets of Da Nang, with nearly 174,900 arrivals in the first 9 months of 2025, an increase of more than 24% over the same period in 2024. This figure shows the growing attractiveness of Da Nang city to Malaysian tourists.

Currently, the Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang route is being operated by AirAsia, Batik Air Malaysia and Malaysia Airlines. Vietjet Air's official opening of additional flights from October 26, 2025 has increased the total frequency of operations to 42 flights/week, contributing to enhancing connectivity and two-way passenger exchange, while providing more convenient options for travelers between the two destinations.

With a series of well-organized promotional activities and the advantage of direct flights, Da Nang is affirming its position as a leading attractive destination for Malaysian tourists, while expanding international cooperation opportunities, aiming at the goal of sustainable development of the city's tourism industry in the new period.
