At the meeting with the US President, the two leaders highly appreciated the positive results of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in recent times; agreed to continue to closely coordinate to develop the bilateral relationship in depth, substance, stability and sustainability, in accordance with the interests of the two peoples, actively contributing to peace , cooperation and sustainable development in the region and the world.

President Luong Cuong congratulated the United States on its achievements under the leadership of President Donald Trump, highly appreciated the President’s role in promoting conflict resolution and peace restoration in some regions of the world in recent times; affirmed that Vietnam is ready to play a bridging role, supporting the search for sustainable solutions in accordance with international law for conflicts.

With the desire to maintain a stable and effective development momentum, President Luong Cuong proposed that the two sides soon complete negotiations on a reciprocal trade agreement in a mutually beneficial manner on the basis of the recent Joint Statement, taking into account Vietnam's characteristics and the importance of the bilateral relationship, while promoting cooperation in the fields of politics-diplomacy, economics-trade, science-technology, national defense-security, people-to-people exchange, and overcoming the consequences of war. Vietnam welcomes the United States to make active and responsible contributions to the Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean regions.

US President Donald Trump affirmed the importance of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam; highly appreciated Vietnam's growing role and position as well as its efforts in reform, opening up, integration, and strong economic innovation; welcomed Vietnam's import of key US products; affirmed the US's support for ASEAN's central role; and highly appreciated Vietnam's contributions to regional and international issues.

At the meeting, the two sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern. On this occasion, President Luong Cuong extended an invitation from Vietnam's senior leaders to President Trump and his wife to visit Vietnam soon. President Donald Trump expressed his good impression of his two visits to Vietnam in 2017 and 2019; thanked the invitation from Vietnam's senior leaders and promised to arrange time to visit Vietnam.

*On the same day, President Luong Cuong had a brief meeting with the leaders of Canada, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. At the meetings, the leaders highly appreciated Vietnam's development in all aspects in recent times as well as its increasing international role.

President Luong Cuong and leaders affirmed the importance of promoting the substantive and comprehensive development of bilateral relations in the coming time, as well as strengthening close coordination and actively participating in cooperation processes at multilateral mechanisms and forums, including APEC and ASEAN, contributing to stability, peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

*Also on the evening of October 29, President Luong Cuong attended a dinner party hosted by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to welcome APEC leaders to the ancient capital of Gyeongju, South Korea to attend the 2025 APEC Summit.

In his opening remarks, the President of the Republic of Korea expressed his pleasure at welcoming APEC leaders to the ancient capital of Gyeongju, affirming that APEC Year 2025 is an important milestone in efforts to promote regional cooperation for a connected, creative and prosperous Asia-Pacific. President Lee Jae Myung emphasized that the Republic of Korea wishes to strengthen dialogue with member economies, strengthen trust and work together for peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.

Thanking President Lee Jae Myung and the people of the Republic of Korea for their warm welcome and congratulating the important achievements of APEC 2025, in a friendly and open atmosphere, APEC leaders discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in the Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean regions, affirmed APEC's central role in promoting trade, investment, innovation and inclusive and sustainable growth, and shared their determination to build a region of peace, stability and sustainable development.

Speaking at the event, President Luong Cuong emphasized the three key goals that countries need to coordinate to promote: peace, prosperity and sustainable development for all economies. Affirming that, with an understanding of the value of peace and national independence, Vietnam is ready to participate in efforts to mediate, reconcile, end conflicts, maintain and build peace, as well as actively contribute to the international community's post-conflict reconstruction efforts.

The President also stated that prosperity for all nations can only be achieved on the basis of sincere cooperation, equality, mutual benefit and mutual respect. He shared Vietnam's views on sustainable development.

President Luong Cuong emphasized the long-term vision and comprehensive and balanced approach; affirmed that Vietnam is ready to cooperate with partners to implement programs and projects on energy, digital economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, and training of high-quality human resources.

The President affirmed that Vietnam, as the host of APEC 2027, will closely coordinate with members to promote APEC's achievements, ensuring that the Asia-Pacific region is a land of opportunity and success. Vietnam looks forward to welcoming all APEC leaders to the APEC Summit Week in 2027 on the beautiful island of Phu Quoc.
