In his opening speech, Comrade Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, emphasized: The visit of the delegation of the Thai Journalists Federation is a vivid demonstration of the close, friendly and understanding cooperative relationship between the press of the two countries. He said that over the past year, the Vietnamese press has undergone many strong changes, restructuring the editorial system and increasing the application of new technology in content production.
The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association also shared about the challenges that the global press is facing, especially in the face of the explosion of artificial intelligence and fake news. In that context, the press needs to return to its core values: high-quality, honest and creative content.

Not only stopping at the issue of technology, the press of the two countries also realized the need to increase cooperation to reflect and investigate transnational issues.
Events such as climate change, human trafficking or the emergence of online fraud centers in the region are strongly impacting the security and society of countries, requiring synchronous coordination between press agencies to raise public awareness.
Faced with the above challenges, the two sides agreed that the core solution is to return to focusing on producing high-quality content, while at the same time applying science and technology in an innovative and creative way.

At the meeting, comrade Le Quoc Minh shared about the large-scale training program on artificial intelligence (AI) for journalists organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association, with the goal of training thousands of reporters and editors on how to use AI effectively, while still ensuring authenticity and professional ethics.
On the Thai side, Mr. Nakorn Veerapravati, President of the Thai Journalists Federation under the Royal Thai Government, emphasized the good relationship between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Thai Journalists Federation over the past 30 years, and expressed his hope that this visit will further strengthen the relationship between the two sides.
Mr. Nakorn Veerapravati said that Thailand also actively organizes AI training courses for journalists and reporters, especially emphasizing the importance of checking and verifying information when exploiting data from AI platforms.
The two sides pledged to continue sharing successful management and operational models to help the regional press adapt quickly to the rapidly changing media environment.
Within the framework of multilateral cooperation, the leaders of the two sides agreed to put forward specific proposals to promote the commitment to cooperate in fighting fake news at the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists (CAJ) Conference next year in Malaysia; and to enhance cultural and sports exchanges between Vietnamese and Thai reporters.
Mr. Nakorn Veerapravati also expressed his hope that Vietnam would actively support and contribute more works to the ASEAN Press Photo Contest. In particular, the two sides also discussed the possibility of inviting Timor-Leste to join the ASEAN Press Confederation as an observer, demonstrating the spirit of openness and solidarity of the regional press community.
