Serious landslide on Gia Bac pass, traffic paralyzed

Gia Bac Pass on National Highway 28 continued to experience landslides, with trees falling down everywhere, causing traffic congestion.

Many forest trees fell onto the road, making it impossible for vehicles to pass.

On the morning of October 30, on Gia Bac Pass, passing through Son Dien Commune, Lam Dong Province, many landslides continued to occur, causing large amounts of rock and soil to spill onto the road. Along with the landslides, many fallen trees were found lying across the road at Km 59, 60 and 63 on National Highway 28 through Gia Bac Pass. In addition, on Gia Bac Pass, there was also a situation of subsidence and cracks on the road surface stretching for about 10m.

Soil, rocks and trees fell on the road

Son Dien Commune People's Committee is currently mobilizing forces and vehicles to be present at the scene to coordinate with the Traffic Police and Lam Dong Provincial Police to regulate and ensure traffic safety.

Many large rocks have been cleared to one side of the road by authorities.

The road surface has very dangerous cracks, with the risk of landslides occurring at any time.

Authorities are urgently repairing landslides and clearing fallen trees to clear traffic as soon as possible.

According to the leader of Son Dien commune, currently, in the commune, especially Gia Bac pass, it is raining, so the risk of landslides and falling trees is very high. Drivers need to pay special attention to ensure safety.

Vehicles are currently unable to pass through Gia Bac Pass.
