Mr. Alang Toi, Vice Chairman of Tay Giang Commune People's Committee, said that on DT606 route through the commune, there were more than 20 landslides on negative and positive slopes and subsidence.
Of these, there are 7 large landslides that have completely covered the road surface with an estimated volume of earth and rock of about 35,000m³, making it impossible for vehicles and people to pass. This is the only traffic route connecting Avuong commune with Tay Giang and Hung Son communes.
At Km12 alone, on the evening of October 28, a landslide occurred on a hill with more than 3,000m³ of rock and soil flowing onto the road, completely cutting off traffic.
At Km23+480, an old subsidence is at risk of breaking this section of the route, about 43m long, posing a danger to people and vehicles.
Local authorities have put up warning lines in areas with landslides and landslide risks. Road maintenance units have not yet been able to access the site to level and open the first phase of traffic.

Mr. Alang Toi said that due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, many mountainous areas have been flooded, and the risk of further landslides is very high.
To cope with the situation of possible prolonged isolation, the locality strictly implemented the "4 on-site" plan. Staff were assigned to be on duty 24/7 to promptly handle information. The commune and village shock teams were ready to deploy search and rescue missions when necessary.
Currently, local people have prepared enough food and necessities for at least 7 days.
