The landslide completely collapsed a wooden bridge serving traffic and a grocery store completely collapsed into the river. The landslide area seriously affected 8 households, with 23 people in My Khanh 1 hamlet and 8 households in My Thuan hamlet. The landslide did not cause any human loss, but caused property damage of over 1 billion VND.

After the landslide occurred, the leaders of My Hoa Hung commune sent military forces, commune police, My Thuan hamlet committee and My Khanh 1 hamlet to the scene to direct rescue and evacuate the property of people directly affected by the landslide.

Through the actual survey of the leaders of My Hoa Hung commune, it was found that the landslide was about 120 meters long and about 15 meters deep into the bank. The landslide location was about 150 meters upstream from the old landslide that occurred in early September 2025. The landslide location directly affected the traffic route through Dau Con market area.

Initially, the authorities determined that the landslide area was located right at a curved section with currents close to the shore, strong water flow, combined with large loads on the shore such as houses, road traffic... causing landslides and subsidence in the area.

On the afternoon of October 29, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of My Hoa Hung commune conducted a field survey, assisted people in dismantling and moving their assets to a safe place. At the same time, mobilized people in the surrounding area to cut down trees, clear bushes, move structures to reduce the load and pull cords to cordon off the area, install barriers, temporary signs, hang warning lights... to ensure traffic safety.

The landslide area was discovered to be at risk of further landslides inland and around the houses of households in the landslide area. In the afternoon of the same day, the leaders of My Hoa Hung commune mobilized people in the area at risk of further landslides to evacuate to a safe place to ensure people's lives and property.

My Hoa Hung Commune also requested provincial-level specialized agencies to survey, evaluate, and consider proposing to the An Giang Provincial People's Committee to support the locality in handling and repairing the landslide-affected road section and promptly support affected households to soon stabilize their lives.
