In the next 6-12 hours, flood in Hoi An will slowly recede and remain at a very high level.

According to Tuoi Tre Online reporters on the morning of October 30, the scene in Hoi An was still in complete chaos. Tourist activities were suspended, many roads connecting both sides of the Hoai River were cordoned off, and authorities were on duty to ensure traffic safety.

Flooding also caused the streets near the old town to be set up as temporary markets to provide goods and food for people.

At the Hoi An Ward People's Committee headquarters, hundreds of volunteers sit and sort goods to distribute to relief workers. The ward headquarters has become a gathering point for goods to support people in deeply flooded areas.

According to the Da Nang City Military Command, up to now, 29 communes and wards in Da Nang have been severely flooded, including Hoi An Ward. The central ward of Hoi An recorded 5,826 flooded households, accounting for over 80% of the ward area, with flooding levels ranging from 0.5m to 2m.

Hoi An residents said they were shocked by the peak flooding in recent days. Although they are very familiar with floods, this is the first time in decades that they have witnessed a flood where the water level reached the roof of Hoi An's central market like the past few days.
